2、纪中叶全面建成美丽中国的战略目标和宏伟蓝图中起着非常重要的科技支撑作用。近年来,随着材料科学的进步和环境化学研究的不断深入,微纳米技术、精密仪器表征测试技术和计算软件模拟等新技术的引人与渗透,环境功能材料研究与应用领域迎来了重大的发展机遇,取得了一大批重要的原创性成果和突破。20世纪9 0 年代,日本东京大学山本良一教授等提出了“环境材料”概念(也称生态环境材料),集“材料-环境-生态-健康”设计理念于一体的生态环境材料受到学术界和产业界的广泛关注。2 1世纪初中国学者提出“环境功能材料”概念(也称生态环境功能材料),定义其为以天然矿产资源为主要原料开发的环境污染防治功能材料和微环境调控功能材
3、料。随着人们对于绿色转型和可持续发展理念的普遍认同,研究开发具有独特结构和特异性能的生态环境(功能)材料及系列产品已经成为新时代绿色产业发展的主流趋势。本专辑围绕环境功能材料专题,收录了领域内优秀研究团队的最新学术成果、研究进展和应用案例。专辑涵盖了高分子混凝剂、催化(活化)材料、电化学功能电极材料和改性膜材料等环境功能材料的设计、制备与应用研究,从这些侧面反映了我国环境功能材料的研发现状、技术水平和发展趋势。专辑特别邀请了华南理工大学韦朝海教授和重庆大学郑怀礼教授撰写了很有分量的综述文章,他们高屋建、理论联系实际,基于研究团队多年的工作成果、经验和深厚的学术积淀,对污废水处理中的功能材料和天

6、China)The environmental functional materials are classified to the interdiscipline of chemistry,materialsscience,and environment science and technology,becoming an important research direction in the fields ofresource and environment.They play a vital role in promoting concerted efforts to“cut carbo
7、n emissions,reduce pollution,expand green development,and pursue economic growth,which are the pillars for thestrategy and grand blueprint of the Beautiful China Initiative by the middle of this century.Recently,with thedevelopment of materials science and environmental chemistry,the introduction an
8、d participation of emergingtechnologies,such as micro-nano technologies,advanced instrument characterization,and AI modeling&simulation,the research and application of environmental functional materials ushered in significantopportunity and obtained the important original achievements and breakthrou
9、ghs.In the 1990s,Prof.Yamamoto R from Tokyo University proposed the concept of“environmentalmaterials(or ecomaterials),integrating the design concept of“materials-environment-ecology-health,having received widespread attention.at the beginning of the 2lst century,the“environmental functionalmaterial
10、s(or ecoenvironmental function materials)concept was proposed in China,defined as materialsdeveloped mainly from natural minerals with the function of environmental pollution control andmicroenvironment regulation.With the widespread recognition of green and sustainable developmentconcepts,designing
11、 environmental functional materials with unique structures and properties has become themainstream industry development trend in the new age.Focusing on the environmental functional material,this special issue invites professionals and their teamswith visions and experience in the area to share thei
12、r design methodology,special characterization technique,and practical application of the functional environment-related catalysts reflecting the development frontiers.Based on the latest research results and perspectives,Prof.Wei Chaohai from the South China University ofTechnology and Prof.Zheng Hu
13、aili from Chongqing University contributed crucial review articles.The otherauthors of the seven papers are outstanding researchers in their area with distinct research characteristics andoriginal research results included in top publications.We hope that this special issue will help subsequent rese
