Abstract

Confidence is the first step on the road of success. For an elementary English learner, giving more encouragement can make them become confident and they can overcome the timid. Language comes form life, so we should ask them to speak it out loudly. Meanwhile, trying to change the traditional teaching methods, teachers should respect individuals, which can make them become creative and expand their minds. Cultivating the interests of elementary students is essential. Teachers should offer more real object, game or multimedia to make them feel happy, relaxed and to learn English at the same time.

1 Introduction

For Grade Three of Elementary School students, English has become an vital lesson. What’s more, English becomes more and more popular. So it is important for us to find some ways to make English class lively to make them learn learn more. I’d like to say, the driving force is the key to success, and interests is the best teacher. But some students ignore them, they don’t like to learn English and they don’t know how to learn it. Indications for these ways, teachers should make measures to solve these problems.
2 The importance of making English lively
In the last decades, the teaching class strictly obey their books, teachers just read it again and again. It is certain that students just know its meaning. But for most of them, they read it machinery. However, since the implement of new curriculum standard. Headteacher roles in their ways has changed a lot. They should raise questions to make minds. This is the final aims of teaching, so that eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body intended to full participation, for students to expand the creation of good learning atmosphere, it also will be excavated and the mental state of relaxation to be the most effective release and development . So making English class lively can improve the quality of teaching.
3 Elementary Students Psychological Analysis
There are two different kinds of children. One is lively, the other is too timid and shy. So the teachers should be more patient and warm-hear ted, they should be friendly. The relationship of teacher-student is essential, they should try to communicate with students and encourage them. About 70% of the students like studying by listening, so the teachers should pay much attention on it to conduct the teaching. While 30% of students like studying by vision. It is because the primary school students can’t last their interests for a long time, so teachers should arrange their teaching process reasonable, not to take much time on the same thing.
Elementary school students have strong imitation psychological, so the teachers should set strict demands on themselves, training the ability of distinguish is necessary for students. Many students like to compare with others, they want to be the winner, so the teachers should offer students more opportunities to show themselves. We can divide them into some groups to have a competition or ask some students to be the little teachers, they’ll become more confident.
All in all, only understand the elementary students psychological, teachers can get a good teaching and the English class will be lively.
4 The ways of making English classes lively

English is a starting point for Grade 3, also is the first real contact with foreign language learning stage,so we should try to cultivate students’ interest in learning English from several aspects, and lay a solid foundation, use dry words into sentences in life,the abstract things alive, we can through the following several aspects to promote the English class lively.

4.1 The application of multimedia in the teaching

In order to improve the efficiency and quality of classroom teaching, we propose to optimize the process of classroom teaching. Further more, the optimization is not just a simple change in teaching methods, because it is limited. But optimization of classroom teaching needs a variety of factors to consider, the only way to optimize the effect, resulting in better education. English classroom isn’t just a piece of chalk, a teaching plan, a mouth, but the teacher also should make full use of modern multimedia teaching equipment, mining all can make the classroom lively and interesting carrier services for classroom teaching. For example, I can ask different students to take different fruits, Next class, I’ll teach them how to read them in English, which can make them learn the fruits names quickly, and they can share them with others.

4.2 Try to cultivate the interests of learning English

In English teaching, teachers should be good at a variety of teaching methods to mobilize students attention. It is possible to give examples with well-known cartoon figures or some interesting things they like. Teachers should frequently use competition law and game, students can be divided into several teams to answer questions. The game may include Bingo, words guessing, sentences dragon. Such as rapid response and then cumulative scores in each group, for the highest score made by a group of recognition and reward. Thus, to make the students into the class.
Many students eager to be a teacher, so the teachers should give them chance to make the students enthusiasm higher. The most important thing is the students in this class also learned to share with others, cooperation and awareness, which will benefit them for life.
Games ought to be used at the heart of teaching foreign languages. According to Frederick sen (1999), games create a bridge between learning learning and doing.’ At all levels of education, games have amazing power to engage, challenge, intrigue, and delight students who may resist more conventional materials. Applications of games also requires careful planning. In order to make the classroom games enhance language learning, games must be ‘purposeful, relevant, and educational.’ For games to be a successful element in the teachers tool kit, it is important they contain the following characteristics. Teachers should explain the rules of games clearly and show how to do it, so that it can motivate and help students develop positive attitude towards the foreign language and language learning with fun, and create a desire to continue with their learning. There is a real class from Grade 3 ,in this class. I’ll do the chant first to live up the classroom atmosphere,then I’ll show some pictures about balls and sports. They can look up them to learn the new words more quickly easily and intuitively. I’ll ask some questions to lead in my new sentences, such as do you like basketball,football and table tennis,they may give me the answers and we can get the sentences I like ..., I don’t like ... We can learn them combining pictures .Finally, the practice part,we’ll do a guessing game, one do actions and others guess, what he or she like or don’t like. Then I’ll make a chart about like with smile face and don’t like with unhappy face. The students can be the little teacher to tell us I like ... Or I don't like ...It’s a good way to show themselves and share with others, they can become confident. Meanwhile, doing kinds of sports can benefit a lot for their lives.

4.3 Driving force is the key to success in making English class lively

A teacher’s role as a manager of his class the best embodied through his use of encouragement. By language or non-language measures, a teacher can praise, criticize, encourage or punish his students, show approve or disapprove of his students behaviors and also except students to continue or stop certain kinds of actions.If a teacher can use encouragement and criticism properly, he may possible help students better understand what they have seen and heard. The teacher also may arouse their enterprise, self-respect, sense of honor and collective spirit. Different people have different ways to learn English. In teachers mind, they shouldn’t have the the poor students, every one is unique, they should give them positive and say they are excellent. Teachers can raise questions and ask them to get answers by observing and discussing, it is a good way to dig their potential from different ways. In English class, teachers should not be a person’s one-man show, and it should be the students who is the main body of the class. Through words and deeds, teachers may establish the personality of the students as an example, students will worship him and it will be happy to exchange. A qualified teacher should have found the quality of students, a well-intentional nod, a friendly smile, an insignificant praise, etc, may help a student. We should do everything possible to make them feel successful experience.
There is another phenomenon, some students are very shy and timid, they didn’t want to speak English out, they are afraid of being laughed at by classmates. So the teachers should overcome timid, shy of the psychological, they should require students to speak or a question session at the big voice, so that students can exercise the ability to respond and oral communication skill, which can exercise the whole class of hearing and thinking. One is speaking, others listen, think, the teacher may ash ‘Yes or ‘ No questions. This is the only way to active classroom atmosphere, mobilize the whole class the enthusiasm of the students. For example:
T: What color is it?

T: Is it right?
S: Yes/ No.
If he or she is right, teachers should give her great encouragement. They will be confident to show themselves. Thus, English teaching can achieve double results by making just half efforts.
5 The requirements to teachers
Teachers in English teaching should explore the actual structure of the teaching process, in order to improve the efficiency and quality of classroom teaching, teachers should do a lot.

5.1 To update their own knowledge

They shouldn’t teach them just according to the books, teachers should be up-to-date in their knowledge, they should try to meet needs of students. For another aspects, to re-examine the existing teaching materials, it can be appropriately adjusted to complement and integration that could be beneficial to the sustainable development of students.

5.2 Try to activate the enthusiasm of students

Teachers in the teaching process should use creative manner and teaching activities to activate the enthusiasm of students, and strengthen self-confidence of students and cultivate interests in learning to awaken the potential of students. Teachers should be fully prepared materials, prepared methods, teaching methods should reflect the diversity, innovation, and keep alive the English classes fresh, interesting. In teaching in good faith to heart, enthusiasm, patience, compassion and the principle of living, not only to teach language, but also teaching methods, teaching students, it is necessary to reflect the flexibility of teaching.

5.3 To Provide the atmosphere for language learning

Teachers should start their lessons from the simple terms, and then gradually increase in the number sentences. After a long term, students are basically adapted to the English medium of instruction and enhance confidence in learning English. How can we help students understand English better, heard in English, which requires teachers to do in teaching expression and of movement knit the brows of a teacher’s smile, using simple and easy understanding ways to demonstrate the teaching content, such as body language. Over time, students experience the communicative power, the success of a sense of purpose and a sense of pleasure they will feel.
