A sad love story
Li Fang was heart—broken. It was Valentine's Day and Hu Jin had said she would meet him at the coffee shop after work. But she didn’t turn up。 She could be with her friends right now laughing at him。 She said she would be there at seven o’clock， and he thought she would keep her word。 He had looked forward to meeting her all day， and now he was alone with his roses and chocolates, like a fool. Well， he was not going to hold his breath for her to apologize. He would drown his sadness in coffee。
It was obvious that the manager of the coffee shop was waiting for Li Fang to leave — he wiped the tables, then sat down and turned on the TV — just what Li Fang needed！ A sad Chinese story about lost love.
The granddaughter of the Goddess of Heaven visited the earth. Her name was Zhinv, the weaving girl. While she was on earth she met the herd boy Niulang and they fell in love。 (“just like me and Hu jin," thought Li Fang.） They got married secretly， and they were very happy。 (“we could be like that，" thought Li Fang.） When the Goddess of Heaven knew that her grandmother was married to a human, she became very angry and made the weaving girl return to Heaven. Niulang tried to follow her， but the rivers of stars, the Milky Way， stopped him. Finding that Zhinv was heart-broken, her grandmother finally decided to let the couple cross the Milky Way to meet once a year. Magpies make a bridge of their wings so the couple can cross the river to meet on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month. People in China hope that the weather will be fine on that day， because if it is raining, it means that Zhinv is weeping and the couple won’t be able to meet。
The announcer said, “This is the story of Qiqiao festival。 When foreigners hear about the story, they call it a Chinese Valentine’s story. It’s a fine day today， so I hope you can all meet the one you love。”
As Li Fang set off for home， he thought， “I guess Hu jin doesn’t love me。 I’ll just throw these flowers and chocolates away. I don’t want them to remind me of her。” So he did.
As he sadly passed the tea shop on the corner on his way home, he heard a voice calling him。 There was Hu jin waving at him and calling， “Why are you so late？ I’ve been waiting for you for a long time！ And I have a gift for you!”
What would he do? He had thrown away her Valentine gifts! She would never forgive him. This would not be a happy Valentine’s Day!

 这是一首关于爱的英文诗，每每读到它心中便涌现出一股暖流.正是来自于父母，亲人,朋友的爱伴我走到了现在，让我获得了快乐和成长.爱是人类永恒的话题，因此我选择NSEC Book3 Unit1 A sad love story 这篇课文作为自己的上课内容.
   一．对教材的认识
 本单元的中心话题是“节日”，单元各项活动的设计都围绕着一些中外节日的主题进行。
      A sad love story 是“语言运用”部分的阅读课文。虽然结尾留下了悬念,但它是一个完整的故事，讲述了一对现代年青人的爱情故事，其中穿插了对中国古代著名的“牛郎和织女”及其由此演变出来的“乞巧节”的介绍。两个不同年代的故事由爱情这条主线巧妙地连接起来,使学生读起来意趣盎然，同时让他们理解到爱的真谛是相互信任,相互理解。
     原本这是一堂读写课,要求学生根据上面阅读文章的内容续写一个结尾.考虑到课堂时间的有限,我将其设计成一堂读说课,让学生续说故事的结尾,既活跃了课堂气氛又锻炼他们的口语表达能力。
二．教学重点和难点
教学重点：
本课阅读量正常，难易度适中，文中穿插的“乞巧节”的故事为学生所熟悉,因此将重点放在对现代爱情故事的理解上,并指导他们为这个故事续说一个结尾。
教学难点：
      1。 如何调动学生的积极性，激发他们的学习热情。
      2．如何帮助他们提取信息，分析信息,加强对文章的理解。
      3．如何帮助他们利用文中信息进行英语口语表达
三．三维教学目标
    知识目标：
      1. 掌握文章主旨大意,抓住主要细节信息，把握篇章结构。
      2。 学习新单词,新短语和理解一些句子。
   能力目标：
     训练学生的阅读技巧和口语表达能力。
 情感态度:
1．让学生理解爱的真谛：相互信任，相互理解.
2．让学生学会如何积极面对和化解人际关系中存在的矛盾。
四. 说学情
      1.通过一段时间的学习，高一的学生对新教材有了一定的理解和适应。但他们的自主学习能力不强，对老师存在依赖性.因此，每次上阅读课之前我都会要求他们进行预习，先通读课文，找出新单词和短语以及难以理解的句子,借助于字典和书中的词汇表以及课文注释进行预习，为新课做足准备。
2。他们思想活跃,好奇心强,愿意配合老师进行课堂活动探究。
 五．说教法
1、高中英语教学要始终贯彻交际性原则，强化学生主体意识。
“让游泳者到水中去。”这是交际语言教学理论的思想核心。贯彻交际性原则就是要把教学活化为实际，培养课堂交际氛围，鼓励学生多说多练.在练习中，老师要重视运用鼓励性语言,不断强化学生参加交际的信心。
 2．兴趣激发法
　　 1）用有趣、难度适中的阅读材料激发学生阅读兴趣。  
2） 阅读前的巧妙提问激发学生阅读兴趣。
 3．信息整合法
　　    根据课文实际情况，努力运用如自制课件网络等各种媒体手段，将各种
   有用的信息资源整合起来,充分调动学生的学习兴趣和主动性,培养学生
获取和利用信息的能力.
 六. 说学法
     陶行知先生曾指出“先生的责任不在教，而在教学生如何学”。学法指导在英语教学中非常重要。
1．培养学生养成课前自学的习惯。高中阶段的生词量逐步加大、课文篇幅也逐步加长,因此自学很重要。它可以使学生掌握学习的主动权，增强听课效率，否则上新课时就会心中无数、不得要领。
 2．课堂是实施素质教育的渠道,中学生的英语知识大多从课堂教学中获得，这就要求学生在课堂上集中注意力,积极参与各种形式的听、说、读、写训练活动，培养观察、记忆、思维、想象和创造能力，力争当堂消化本节课最重要的内容。
 3．指导学生课后及时复习，反复练习，巩固已学知识。

There is a traditional love story about Qiqiao Festival。
First I introduce three characters in the story to my students: The herd boy， The weaving girl and The Goddess of Heaven。 Then I'll ask them to tell the story with me according to five pictures and key words on the computer screen。
3. Reading
    I designed three scenes according to the modern love story。
    Scene1   （show a picture to the students）
T： On Qiqiao Festival this year, a young man sat at a coffee shop.
Was he sad or happy？ 
           Can you guess what happened to him?
Now， open your textbooks and turn to page 7。Today we are going to learn a new passage — A sad love story。 Please read the first paragraph。
Task1    Fill in the blanks.
 Li Fang wanted to celebrate Valentine’s Day with his girlfriend Hu Jin。 Hu Jin promised to meet him at the coffee shop. Li Fang waited for her for a long time but Hu Jin didn’t turn up。 Li Fang thought that Hu Jin didn't keep her word and was heart-broken. You see, he had looked forward to meeting her all day， and now he was alone with her Valentine gifts。 He didn’t hope to hold his breath for Hu Jin to apologize. He would drown his sadness in coffee。
Scene2     (show a picture to the students）
T: How time flies! It was too late. Other customers had gone and only Li Fang sat at the coffee shop. What happened at the coffee shop？ Please read from paragraph 2 to paragraph 4.
