APPROVAL: DATE:TASK: CARRYING OUT CHILDRENS SCAVENGER HUNT AND CRAB RACESTANDARD: ALL STAFF MUST BE ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY CARRY OUT THIS EVENTPROCEDURE:The organisation of this event is similar
3、 to the Treasure hunt. It will be held from 4 . 30 to 6 . 00 p . m . initially, and children will meet at the beach bure.Equipment needed a simple handout which mentions articles to be found and tasks to do. Also needed are bags to carry findings in, pencils, and one marker. The stages are like the
4、treasure hunt :9. Ensure all children know about the event earlier in the day.10. Introduction of rules and tasks.11. Explain that one hour maximum is allowed for completion of the tasks. Children again operate in pairs and must stay on the Sheraton grounds.12. On completion of the event, the discov
5、eries will be looked at and the crabs will be given a number.13. A winner will be chosen.14. The crab race is then started using a circle and by putting all crabs in the centre. The winner is the first out of the circle. This second part of the activity will be very informal and should last until ap
6、proximately 58 . p . m . As in the treasure hunt, enthusiasm is the main requirement of the instructor. Meeting place is the Beach Bure.The equipment needed includes, paint, pens, brushes, large and small paper, pencils etc.The
8、 stages are as follows :1. Introduction and explanation this would have to involve lots of encouragement and promotion of ideals perhaps a theme.2. Giving out of equipment.3. Commencement.4. Completion.5. Discussion and positive feedback a voting system for the choice of winner.The instructors role
9、will be vital. Encouragement should be given at all times. He should have ideas and be able to motivate children to produce a picture.The marking of the end result is very important . This will be held near the pool or on the beach. The meeting place for the activity is the main
12、pool at 7 . 30 a . m . for adults and at 8 . 3 0 a . m . for children. Duration of the activity is one hour.The types of morning activity :1. Morning beach jog.2. Morning beach walk3. Childrens meeting.PROCEDURES : (continued )Things to be aware of :Beach Jog :For the beach jog, the instructor should be aware of everyones need and set of medium pace. He should check all guests are OK at intervals. If necessary
14、, a pulse check should be made along the way.Beach Walk :For the beach walk, the instructor should again keep a medium pace and engage in conversation with the group or individually. Informality should be stressed.The scenic walk around the property should be similar to the beach walk, but specific
15、places of interest should be pointed out . This would be the same with the childrens “exploring the property activity.”Shell hunting :This activity is aimed at preparing for the talent show in the evening . The idea is to encourage children to participate and to suggest ways in which they might cont

17、TRUCT CLEARLY, BE CONTINUOUS, AND PROMOTE ENJOYMENT OF THE ACTIVITY. THE STRETCHES MUST BE DONE BY THE INSTRUCTOR.PROCEDURE:Stretching is vital for getting blood into the muscles and ensuring against pulling or straining. The pre stretch takes place before the morning jog or walk and is available fo
18、r children or adults. Care must be taken in taking a stretch activity in the following way :1. All stretches should be done gradually.2. No forcing or jerking of the body is to be encouraged.3. The sides of the body should be stretched equally.4. Breathing should continue as normal and no holding of
19、 breach should be encouraged.5. Each individual should be each stretch to their own ability and should not compete any previous accidents or disabilities guests have had should be taken into consideration.After getting a group together the instructor will introduce himself and explain that he will b
20、e doing a few simple stretches before the activity and he would like all guests to join in and copy the movements . It should be explained that the stretches are designed to alleviate any muscle soreness or potential damage which may occur during the jog or walk.PROCEDURES : ( continued )The stretch

APPROVAL: DATE:TASK: CLEANING OF ALL BEACH AND POOL CHAIRSSTANDARD: CHAIRS MUST BE DIRT FREE AD CLEARED AT LEAST TWICE DAILY.PROCEDURE:1. The attendant starting
23、 the second shift will proceed to the beach after completing the cleaning of all poolside lounge chairs, accompanied by the first shift attendant.2. Cleaning equipment will be carried to the beach from the beach bure or pool room.3. Starting at opposite ends of the beach, the attendants will clean a
24、ll beach chairs, tops and bottoms using a detergent, bucket, and wet cloth.4. Following this , chairs will be dried using a dry cloth and placed in suitable positions for guests to see when they arise. No detergent will be left on chairs.5. If tide is high, chairs are to be left above breakwater wal
25、l. If tide is low, half the chairs may be lifted down onto the beach and arranged nicely. If in doubt, leave chairs above breakwater.6. Any chairs put down onto beach are the responsibility of the beach attendant who placed them and he would either remove them at the end of the day, or make the nece

27、aft must be cleaned twice daily. Once early in the morning , and once at sunset.8. Cleaning equipment must be collected from the beach bure or the swim pool plate room as soon as the pool cleaning is completed.9. Hobie cats , sailboards , and other craft must be taken down on to the beach to prepare
28、 for cleaning . In the event of a high tide or impending high tide, boats will be cleaned above the breakwater wall. Attendants must first check the high water times on the beach bure notice board.10. All craft including the chase boat and accessories must then be cleaned using a bucket, cloth, brus
29、h and cleaning liquid. All sand must be removed from boats, and any tar or blemish marks to the hulls or topsides to be cleaned off. All sails are to be hosed down using fresh water.11. To dry, all boats will be left in a line with sails, hoisted, head to wind, (unless wind is considered too strong
30、). Sailboards will also be rigged and rigs left standing so as to dry quickly.12. All other craft will be arranged ready for use .PROCEDURES : (continued )13. In the evening at approximately 5 . 00 p . m . , all craft will be cleaned in reserve. As each boat returns to the beach, it will be cleaned
31、and returned up the slip way to be placed above the breakwater wall for the night. Sails will be stowed neatly, and all ropes and lines coiled tidily. Any accessories will be locked away by the equipment supervisor.14. All craft must be in by 5 . 30 p . m .15. Before leaving , attendant must check t

33、GH TIDE. IT WILL ALSO BE CLEANED EACH MORNING REGARDLESS OF TIDE POSITION.PROCEDURE:1. Check and be aware of high tide times on the beach bure notice board.2. Collect rake, wheel barrow, or garbage container and shovel.3. Begin cleaning process by walking the Sheraton beach and picking up any large
34、debris such as litter, wood or such like. Do the area from the breakwater spit to the clearing just past the Sheraton property.4. After picking up all debris, start from one end and rake the length of the beach to clear all seaweed lines and blemish lines caused by the high tide.5. As piles of seawe
35、ed become too large , use the shovel to lift them in to the wheel barrow or garbage container. Pick up as you go ,remembering to always smooth out behind you. Evidence of raking is acceptable, gaps where a shovel have been use are not.6. After checking your work thoroughly dispose of the beach debri
36、s in the area provided and clear all equipment used before replacing in the designated area.7. APPROVAL: DATE:TASK: GENERAL CLEANLINESS OF THE ACTIVITIES AREASTANDARD: THE AREA MUST ALWAYS REMAIN LITTER FREE AND MUST RECEIVE CONSTANT MONITORING SO AS TO REMAIN SO.PROCEDURE:1. As each activities employee goes about his work in any specific area
38、, he / she must be aware of the general tidiness of it.2. All litter must be picked up and disposed of in all areas.3. While working near the pool ,all chairs etc must be straightened and laid out aesthetically, and all litter picked up around or under them.4. On the beach all boats must remain in a
39、 straight line while not in use. All masts on Hobie Cats must be in a line. Sailboards must be arranged neatly at all times and not left scattered. All litter must be picked up around them.5. Employees should not sit down or relax at any time, but instead should, if not busy, patrol their particular

The hazards of the tricks will be pointed out, along with the shallowness of the water this will set a lighthearted tone in case some tricks fail.
