3、anwriterandfolkloristofthe1920sand1930s,wasbornonJanuary7,1891,inAlabama.Hurstonwasthefifthofeightchildren,andwhileshewasstillayoungchild,herfamilymovedtoEatonville,Florida,thefirstall-blackincorporatedtownintheUnitedStates.Andherfather,JohnHurston,servedseveraltermsasmayor.HurstonslifeinEatonvillea
4、ndherextensiveanthropologicalresearchonruralblackfolkloregreatlyinfluencedherwriting.In1925,shemovedtoNewYorkandbecameasignificantfigureintheHarlemRenaissance.Ayearlater,she,LangstonHughes,andWallaceThurmanorganizedthejournalFire!,consideredoneofthedefiningpublicationsoftheera.TheauthorZoraNealeHurs
