本课是第一单元的第四课时,主要内容是两位朋友之间的故事。在授课前先让学生回忆自己和朋友之间所发生的事情,引导学生积极主动参与到教学活动中,努力营造一个轻松、愉快、自由的学习环境。本课采用了情景导入法为学生创设真实的语言环境,激发学生使用英语进行交流的兴趣。在听完课文内容之后,学生应独立自主地从课文中找出相应的答案。这样可以训练学生的听力和阅读能力。

1.One day,the two best friends stopped talking to each other. 
stop doing sth.表示“停止做某事”,指停止正在做的事情。而stop to do sth.指停下来去做另一件事。

I am tired.Let’s stop to have a rest.我累了。让我们停下来休息一下吧。
　　2.That way,he could spend more time playing basketball. 
spend表示“花费”,主语为人,spend既可以表示花费时间,也可以表示花费金钱。常用句型为:Sb.spend(s)+时间/金钱+on sth.;Sb.spend(s)+时间+(in) doing sth.。
　　She spent 150 yuan on this dress.她买这条连衣裙花了150元。
3.But to his surprise,Patrick didn’t agree. 
to one’s surprise意为“让某人惊讶的是”,常位于句首,作状语,表示行为的结果。
To my surprise,she failed in the exam.令我惊讶的是,她考试没及格。
4.I won’t lend you my homework. 
lend意为“借出”,常用短语lend sb.sth./ lend sth.to sb.意为“把某物借给某人”。
I lent my dictionary to my classmate.
=I lent my classmate my dictionary.我把词典借给了我的同学。
【拓展】　borrow意为“借入”,borrow sth.from sb.意为“向某人借某物”。
Can I borrow your bike?我可以借你的自行车吗?
