In recent years there exists an increasingly serious social and economical problem of the house/property price in Chinese cities sky-rocketing. In giant cities such as Beijing and Shanghai the price of every square meter has already gone up to 30, 000 yuans. Some urban Chinese can’t afford to buy a flat. Others complain loudly about becoming “mortgage slaves”.
There are a couple of reasons producing this problem. Firstly, Chinese treat flats as “stores of value, like gold”. With few other investment options in a closed economy, they put a big chunk of savings into real estate. Secondly, there is urbanization. According to the State Council, as many as 400 million people could move to cities over the next two decades. The potential demand of apartments is big. Finally, the earth price is rising very quickly.
From my standpoint, the sky-rocketing price of apartments in Chinese cities might create a dangerous property bubble which will exert a strong negative impact on the social stability, economic structure and competitive force of our nation. Strict measures are supposed to take to regulate and control the ever-rising price of houses. On the one hand, the down payment rate should be greatly raised. On the other hand, the property tax must be implemented as soon as possible. Besides, many low-price apartments for people to buy or rent should be built by the government.

Nowadays more and more drivers have the bad habit of driving their cars while they are drunk. The phenomenon of drunk driving is becoming more widespread and serious than before. It is reported that in city of Hangzhou a drunk young rich driver drove his SUV with famous brand BMW ran over pedestrians in the walkway and killed seven people including a pregnant lady. Similar tragedies happened in Beijing, Chengdu, Shenzhen and Chongqing.
Drunk driving is extremely harmful and dangerous to both pedestrians and drivers. It is likely to lead to severe traffic accidents in which many people are killed or injured and much wealth is lost. Besides, the traffic jam correspondingly occurs and the work efficiency is reduced in the city. What’s more, the frequent happening of traffic accidents caused by drunk driving is sure to exert negative influence on the stability and harmony of our society.
More strict measures must be taken to reduce or prevent drunk driving. Firstly, more strict traffic law should be laid down and carried out to reduce and punish drunk driving. Secondly, it is good to educate drivers, young or old, to become aware of the danger and harm of drunk driving and stop driving conscientiously when they are drunk. Finally, relatives or friends should advise drivers not to drink alcohol during a dinner or not to drive when the drivers become drunk after the dinner.

Should Colleges Graduates Open a Shop?

At present there exists an increasingly meaningful phenomenon of college graduates creating their own business. Some open a fashion shop. Some establish a website. Some open a fast food restaurant. Still some raise pigs or fish. There are a couple of reasons producing this phenomenon. One of the main reasons lies in that it is more difficult for college graduates to find a proper job than before.
Should college graduates open a shop? Different people have different ideas. Some people recognize that college graduates should get hired by themselves. For one thing, the world financial crisis causes the world economic recession. Many companies or factories have gone bankrupt. The number of laid-off workers is on the rise. To some extent, college graduates’ opening a shop might be a solution to the issue of employment. For another, if they succeed in developing their business, they will employ many other graduates. But other people take an opposite side. They firmly believe that college graduate shouldn’t open a shop. Due to the shortage of business experience, college graduates may fail in their business and just waste much time and money.
As for me, I am in favor of the former idea. There are a dozen of reasons behind my belief. First of all, the world economic recession causes high rate of unemployment. If the number of unemployed college graduates keeps rising, a serious social problem will arise. Secondly, college graduates have no reasons to be supported by their parents any more. Finally, college graduates should employ their knowledge and intelligence to make contribution to the prosperity of our country as urgently as possible.

How to Deal with Sub-health?

With the modernization of the world, people’s standard of living has improved a lot. Then there appears a state of sub-health among people which poses a new threat to them.
There are some typical symptoms for people who are in a state of sub-health. First of all, those who suffer from it often have a headache or backache. Secondly, they feel like having a rest frequently. What upsets us most is that, the situation is spreading countrywide. As a result, more and more workers in big cities are harassed by it, with a percentage of 75 in Beijing, 72 in Shanghai and 70 in Guangzhou respectively.
Then how can we solve this problem effectively? Experts suggest that the best way to keep ourselves healthy is to do exercises. It is also very important that people should form a good living habit, for example, getting up early and going to sleep early. Only doing so can we keep us healthy.

TV has been one medium of communication that has connected millions. And it is this link that makes talent hunt shows on the tube amazingly influential. Young faces conveying disappointment or even overwhelming joy have become a common sight on as many channels as your remote allows you to surf.
Some people have their opinions on the TV shows. The advantages of the shows are clear to some people. For one thing, in terms of business, the increasing popularity of talent shows has helped the channels in generating huge income by way of advertising and promotions. For another thing, the TV shows can make the common people have opportunity to show themselves.
Personally, I side with the former opinion. It is a wonderful feeling and a great way to relax for me to watch talent shows and see ordinary people like myself become famous and win cash prizes. As long as talent shows are entertaining and inspiring us, there is great sense in keeping and encouraging them.

Students’ Rating of Their Teachers

Nowadays, it has become as common in colleges and universities for students to grade teachers as for teachers to grade students. In some universities students’ rating has even become the only source of information on teaching effectiveness.
This, however, has caused great controversy. Some are in favor of the rating system. They hold that since students attend the teachers’ classes everyday, they should have their opinion about their teachers’ effectiveness. Others, on the contrary, are strongly against it. They believe that there is much more to teaching than what is shown on students’ rating forms. Students should not be expected to judge whether the materials used are up to date or how well the teacher knows about the subject.  These judgments require professional knowledge, which is best left for the teachers’ colleagues.
I think students’ rating of their teachers is necessary, but it should be conducted in a way that can really shed meaningful light on teachers’ performance. Instead of rating the teachers’ knowledge on the subject, students should be asked to estimate what they themselves have leaned in a course, and to report on such things as a teacher’s ability to communicate with students, his relationship with students, and his ability to arouse interest in the subject.

In fact, it is very important for the students to attend their classes regularly. First, it will ensure you to catch up with the teachers in your learning. That is very helpful to you if you want to do a good job in your study. Second, attending classes regularly is a way of showing respect to your teachers, too. Your teachers will feel bad if the students do not attend their classes, which, in return, will affect their teaching and be no good for the students. For many years we have been using disposal plastic bags when we are shopping on the market, and most often these bags are offered by the shops for free. This, undoubtedly, has brought us great convenience in our daily life.
However, its disadvantages are also very apparent, and I’ll just venture to explore two aspects. For one thing, the plastic bags are mostly indecomposable in the natural state so that with the increasing use of these bags, it will not only seriously bring about the so-called “white pollution” to the environment, it can also cost us a lot to have them decompose completely so as to minimize their damage to the environment. For another, the production of plastic bags are often not strictly supervised, so a large proportion of the bags don’t meet the requirements for healthy products, which means the more we use them, the more likely we are to suffer in health.
The negative effects of the plastic bags are far serious than what I’ve mentioned above, so it’s high time the government issued strict laws and  measures to stop using the bags. By so doing, we can save a lot of money from producing these bags as well as return a cleaner earth to ourselves and the later generations.
