Mo Yan, 57, became the first Chinese citizen (公民) to win a Nobel Prize in literature (文学) on October 11,2012.
The award described Mo’s work as a mixture of fantasy (幻想) and reality, combining historical and social perspectives (看法).

Ma Wendi, a 25-year-old veterinary graduate(兽医学毕业生), is a full-time dog walker. The owners drop their pets off in the morning and pick them up in the evening.

Did you show your thanks to your family and friends on this year’s Thanksgiving Day? For me, maybe the first person I should thank is my American friend. She kindly invited me to her home to celebrate the festival. I experienced (体验) my first ever Thanksgiving.

It’s hard when a best friend isn’t around – maybe because he or she moved to a different school or a different class. You may feel left out at break or lunchtime.
