1. bend vt., vi. (bent, bending)

3. expect vt. expect (sb.) to do sth.
1) 预料；预期
I expect he'll pass the examination. 我预料她会通过考试。
The chairman of the committee expect to be back next Thursday.
委员会主席估计下星期四回来。
The first message is expected to arrive at 7 o'clock this evening.

4. upset (upset, upsetting)
