Whether or not universities should accept the equal number of boys and girls in every field of subject has become a controversial issue .A sufficient number of people assert that gender balance in each subject is of umost importance to the physical and mental development of the students .Although they have solid valid arguments to support their opinion ,but I tend to disagree with it .Here are some reasons to support my point of view

It is a universally hold perception that the innate characteristics are practically different between boys and girls .For example ,the boy s tend to be aggressive ,adventurous and careless ,while the girls are likely to be considerate ,thoughtful ,and patient .Thus the girls enjoy decorating their rooms ,looking after their little sisters or brothers and doing the housework ,there is a higher possibility that girls would choose the art-related courses, nursing or teaching .However boys favor to play with cars and try fresh ideas ,consequently ,the domain fields for boys are the science-related courses ,engineering or math mastics .Hence the rigid rules of only receiving equal number of male and female students in every subject are unreasonable and unscientific .

In addition to， the children s instinct ,the traditional role in our society should also be taken into consideration .Culturally speaking ,females responsibilities in the society lie in acting as homemakers or some possible professions such as nurse and teacher ,comparing to that the male s obligations are mainly breadwinners or some physically demanded positions involved solider and miner .Therefore ,the students should be granted to choose whatever they like according to the social norms ,only in this regard ,can everyone fulfill their civic role in their lives ,It seems that it conforms with the mainstream .It is no doubt that most of the people may be surprised when a man nurse gives them injections or when they see a woman ,fighting with a fierce enemy.

By way of conclusion ,I would like to reaffirm my position that it is unpractical and unreasonable rules to have equal number of male and female students in every subjects and it is strongly suggested that a more workable and ideal principle ,this is to choose the courses according to the students s interests, should be put on the table .
