Step1 Presentation
1. Show the traffic signs and ask : Do you know what this sign means? Help Ss to answer : Yes .It means there’s a bridge.
2. Present other traffic signs to teach new words and talk with the Ss like this:
(1). What about this? It means there’s a street ahead.
(2). Look at this sign. Shall we walk straight on? No. We should turn left.
(3). Are they traffic lights? Yes ,they are.
(4). Is there a zebra crossing? Yes ,there is.
Step2 Practice
1. Show the picture on Page49 PartA1 and say:
Here we have some simple instructions. Let’s listen to the tape and tick the correct boxes.
2.Play the tape again and get Ss to read each sentence three times.
3.Compare each picture to master the traffic language.
1a: Cross the bridge and turn left. 1b: Cross the bridge and turn right.
2a: Take the first turning on the left. 2b: Take the first turning on the right.
3a: Cross the road. 3b: Cross
the road at the zebra crossing.
Ask and answer.
Learn something about the traffic signs.
Listen to the tape and tick the correct boxes.
Read each sentence three times.

Step 3 Presentation
1. Present a picture of finding treasure. Play the tape and put the sentences in the correct order. Write the numbers 1-6 in the boxes on Page 49 PartA2.
2. Read the six sentences twice.Pay attention to some useful phases.
3. Make on the map where the treasure is.
(1). Do you know their names?
(2). Do you know any of Mozi’s students?
(3). What did Lu Ban usually use to make things?
(4). Who found a new way to make paper?
(5). Where did Marco Polo come from?.
4. Try to finish Part A3 according to the information in Part A2, see how many blanks they can fill. Get Ss to underline the words and phrases they don’t understand, discuss in groups of four, the teacher offer help if necessary.
5. Play the tape again, Ss complete A3, read the passage together to check the answers.
Listen to the tape and put the sentences in the correct order.
Answer the questions one by one .
