Let go of pressure
Good afternoon,
My dear friends,today my topic is “Let go of pressure”.
Last year, also at the Novermber’s time, I took part in the speech contest of the fifth Foregin Language Festival of our department. I can’t deny the fact that fater that fierce competition, I have lost confidence to stand on the stage again. According to my experience, I could pass the priliminary contest and quarter-final successfully, but in the finals I usually failed, and just got some encouring prize. I know many contestants here are very excellent. Before this fimal I predict that I will gain the encouraging prize again. So when I heard the news that I had passed the quarter-final, I didn’t feel excited or satisfied. I was just worrying about my final result. I even have the thought of giving up the chance. However, when I considered the matter carefully, I found that it is the pressure that caused troubles. The pressure came from my vanity, my classmates’ encouragement ,and also my parents and friends’ expectation.
As a matter of fact, it’s just a small event about presure.Our daily life is filled with pressure. For example, study, economy, employment and all kinds of competitions. Pressure is a natural part of everyday life and there is no way to avoid it,so we must adapt to it, then we can let go of pressure.
Considering the great damage of pverdue pressure, college students first should have a right evaluation of ourselves. After the priliminary contest, I asked one of the judges for help. She told me that in general,I had done a good job. But the most important problem is my inotation and pronuncation.
She suggested me that I should listen more and imitate more. So what she said let me recognize myself clearly and my mood became releaved.
Second, we should set a clear aim of struggle.
The aim can gice us motiovation and urge us to work hard for it. Of course, I never dream of getting a first prize. Why I still stand here? I want to learn more,realize more of my own problem, I want to practice my courage. I want to make more friends, so I can improve step by step.
Third, taking part in different activities is an effective way to relieve pressure. These days, we are preparing for a department’s party, so I can enjoy myself in many activities and leave the pressure alone.
OK, I think I was under large pressure 3 minutes before, but now I am here and have finished my speech. Here is the last thing I want to add to my topic, face it and overcome it, pressure is also a piece of cake.
