October 15th is the Global Handwashing Day.Activities are planned in more than 20 countries to get millions of people in the developing world to wash their hands with soap.For example, donators will give 150，000 bars of soap to schools in Ethiopia.

The Partnership for Handwashing says soap is important because it increases the time that people spend in washing hands. Soap also helps to break up the dirt that holds most of the germs. Every American family has its own traditions on Thanksgiving Day，and mine is no different. Once the national holiday arrives, my mum rises early to make the meal. She puts a turkey in the oven, chops carrots and bakes pies. I'm sorry to say that the men in the family—my dad, my younger brother and myself—rarely pitch in to help. Our job is to wash the mountain of dirty dishes after the meal is over.

People from all over the world have different wedding traditions and marriage customs. The one thing that all wedding ceremonies commonly seem to have is the commitment (承诺) of love for all time during a public ceremony.
