Try to improve their skills of using English. 情感态度价值 Help students understand the differences between English and Chinese names and make them be interested in learning English. Next, they’ll practice the target language and do some listening exercises to consolidate the new language points.With the help of the multi-media, they will be interested in learning English. Step 2 Presentation 1. Ask: Do you know how to spell “family”? 2. Now,let’s look at the ad picture. And teach the new words. Help them read fluently and correctly. 3. Say: This is Xia Xiaoyu. This is his sister. This is his brother. These are his parents... 4. Get students to finish the task in 1a. Then check the answers together. Step 3 Listening (1b) Help students understand the task in 1b and play the tape for twice. Then check the answers together. Answers questions. Is this a map ? Is that a ruler? What’s this in English? Etc. Look and say. Look and chant. Learn to introduce Xiaoyu’s family. Look and match. Then, play the tape for 3 times. Next, help them check the answers together. Finally, guide students to ask and answer questions about the photo in 2b. Teach the structure: Who’s she ? She’s Cindy. Who’s he ? He’s her father. Step 5 Reading (2d) 1. Ask two students to read the dialogue in 2d in class and help them translate it into Chinese. 2. Let them role-play the conversation in pairs. Pairwork. First listen and circle, then listen and match. Next listen and repeat aloud after the tape. Groupwork.
