人教版高中英语必修三Unit 4 Astronomy Reading--the science of the stars Teaching aims 教学目标 Knowledge and ability aims 知识与技能目标    1.Get students to grasp some important new words and expressions.    2.Enable students to develop their reading ability and try to use some reading strategies such as guessing, key sentences, fast reading and so on. Emotional aims 情感目标    1.Enable students to understand the common sense of astronomy.    2.Develop students’ sense of cooperation. Teaching key point 教学重点    1. Get Ss to read the passage and learn about the common sense of  astronomy.     2. Improve the Ss’ reading ability by fast reading and careful reading. Teaching difficult point教学难点    1. To guide the students to understand the passage and know about the common sense of astronomy.     2. Get Ss to use different reading skills for different reading purposes. Teaching Methods 教学方法    1. Task-based teaching and learning; 2. Cooperative learning Teaching Aids 教学辅助手段    The multimedia and other normal teaching tools Teaching Procedures 教学过程    Step 1  Take a discussion  1. Each religion and culture has its own ideas about how life began on earth. What do you know? 2. Read the title and look at the pictures. Predict what the reading will be about?    Step 2  Reading 1. Fast Reading    Please read the passage quickly and write down the main idea of each part. 2. Careful reading    Read para2 carefully and then answer the following questions. 1)Have human beings have know the origin of the earth clearly so far? 2)How many years have dinosaurs existed on the earth. 3. Read the text again and then fill in the chart.    Step 3  listening  Listen to the passage carefully, then decide if the following statements are true (T) or false (F).    Step 4  Summary    Step5  Homework 1.
