Unit3 Letters from the past Topic 3 Section B The main activities are 1a and 2b. 本课重点活动是1a和2b。 Ⅰ. Teaching aims and demands 教学目标 1. Learn some useful words and expressions: be weak in, aloud, make mistakes, take a breath, sentence, toothpaste 2. Go on learning “wh- + to do”: Could you give us some advice on how to learn English well? Could you please tell me how to improve my reading? 3. Go on talking about language learning strategies. Ⅱ. Teaching aids 教具 录音机/图片或多媒体/小黑板 Ⅲ. Five-finger Teaching Plan 五指教学方案 Step 1 Review 第一步 复习(时间:10分钟) 1. (找三组同学到前面表演section A 1a的内容。) 2. (检查上节课的综合探究活动。) T: Last lesson I have asked you to write something about your difficulties in your English study. (叫两位同学到前面读出他们在学英语中遇到的困难。) S1: Boys and girls … S2: … T: You did well. Every one of us has some difficulties in our English study. So it is important to master some ways of learning English. Can you give some advice for us?(叫几个成绩较好的学生,谈谈他们的学习方法。) S3: I often read English in silent places. And I recite ten new words every day. T: Yes. It is a good way to master new words. S4, please. S4: I often write some new words on a piece of paper. And I often read English text loudly. T: Yes. We must read English loudly. Some of us dare not open their mouths. They read English silently. (板书、释义、领读生词。) loudly aloud … (教师总结,导入新课。) T: Just now, three / four of them say some good ways of learning English. Listen to the tape. We will learn something about Kangkang how to study English. Step 2 Presentation 第二步 呈现(时间:5分钟) 1. (让学生听1a录音,问答下列问题,教师核对答案。) T: What did Wang Junfeng ask Kangkang to do? Ss: He asked if Kangkang could give them some advice on how to learn English well. T: What did Kangkang say about his English? Ss: He said he was weak in English two years ago. (板书) give sb. some advice For example: Could you give me some advice on how to learn English well? (板书) be weak in 2. (再读课文找出“wh- + to do”句子。) (板书) Could you give us some advice on how to learn English well? Could you please tell me how to improve my reading? (教师讲解“wh- + to do”的结构,即相当于一个宾语从句,并告诉学生宾语从句转换成“wh- + to do”的条件: 宾语从句的主语与主句或间接宾语一致时即可转换。) T: When we express“He doesn’t know what he should do next.”We have another saying of that. Can you tell me? Ss: Sorry, we don’t know. T: We can say that like this: He doesn’t know what to do next. Could you give me more examples? S1: I don’t know where to go. S2: She wants to know how to learn English well. S3: … 3. (做游戏,看谁做的快,训练“wh + to do”结构。) T: Now, boys and girls, let’s play a game“who does quickly”according to“wh + to do”. S4: I’m wondering whether to go out or not at night. S5: I don’t know how to drive a car. S6: I don’t decide when to see my uncle. S7: Could you tell me how to get to the post office? S8: … S9: … Step 3 Consolidation 第三步 巩固(时间:5分钟) 1. (学生再读1a,然后讨论如何解决学英语时所遇到的困难,并给出建议,完成表格,进而完成1b。) T: Boys and girls, read the dialog again, then discuss how to solve these difficulties which we meet during the English study. Then fill in the form. Difficulties Advice pronunciation new words grammar composition … 2. T: Now I will give you some words. You can use these words to retell the text. Write something about Kangkang’s learning ways.(用小黑板展示这些单词。) copy, stick, read aloud, change, read, around, try to guess, get the main idea S1: … S2: … 3. Read after the tape together.(跟读1a。) 4. Finish 2a. (让学生根据自身的实际情况,选择在学习英语时遇到的困难,及相应的解决措施。完成2a。) Step 4 Practice 第四步 练习(时间:15分钟) 1. (展示图片或多媒体,小组活动,两人一组,操练句型“wh + to do”,完成2b。) T: Pair work. Look at the pictures and complete the sentences according to the example with the following phrases. what time to meet them how to send e-mails to give him some advice where to go whether to go to the party which to buy For example: (1) He wants to go on a trip. He is thinking about where to go. (2) He looks worried. How to send e-mails has become his problem. (3) There are many kinds of toothpaste. He can’t decide which to buy. (教师释意,领读tooth paste。) (4) He has many difficulties. He asked Kangkang to give him some advice. (5) He will meet his friends. But he forgot what time to meet them. (6) He has a lot of work to do. He is wondering whether to go to the party. Step 5 Project 第五步 综合探究活动(时间:10分钟) 1. (将全班学生分为两组,一组谈问题,一组给建议,每组提一条好的建议得1分,得分最高的为获胜者。) T: Make a survey to find what difficulties we have in our English study. Give us some advice on how to solve these problems.
