Do not believe rumors, do not pass rumors Teaching focus and difficulties Words and expressions in this unit Consolidate the target language by writing practice Teaching Content and Teacher’s Activities Personalized design Step 1 Revision Collect pictures from students on the teacher's desk. Hold up one at a time and ask students to describe it using the target language introduced in the preceding classes. For example: T: (Holding up a picture with a boy swimming in an ocean of books) What do you think is happening to the person in the picture? Step 2 Presentation I.3a This part is designed to help students to consolidate target language through group work. First,lead the students to read the instruction to know what to do in this activity and how to do it . Then ,divide students into groups of four to talk about the strange noise. Encourage students to extend their imagination and present the reasons. II.3b This activity provides reading and writing practice using the target language. First ask students to have a quick look at the instructions and the statements to know what to do in this activity and how to do it. Then,invite a student to read the writing tips in the box. Ask students to write a passage to talk about the strange happenings according to the guide of he tips. III.Self Check This section is designed to help students to check their learning efficiency by themselves. Give students enough time to finish this part.Ask them to do it carefully and individually. Later ,exchange the work with deskmate, check the answers and give marks. Step4 Summary Step5 Homework Finish your writing .
