Whats over there?Revise the words of part 1 and show the pictures

4、of the book to introduce snowmobile and igloo.4. Today, lets see the man in the arctic.Step two: Presentation 1. Show Picture 2 and picture3 of the book and ask “What do you think of their life?” Learn very cold, always dark, never dark , build an igloo.Write the sentence on the blackboard:Its alway

5、s dark.2. Play the tape ,the pupils listen without the books.3. Listen again ,the pupils listen with the open books.4. Look at the map of the world and point at arctic, Canada, America, northern Canada,Get the pupils to understand northern Canada 5. Listen and guide: Ask the pupils to read the text

10、wers are:He is Howard He lives in Grise Fjord in northern Canada.Most of the yearits very coldhere.They live in an igloo.Its always niceand warm.Speak English as much as possible.板书设计Part 2 TextIn winner its always dark.In summer its never darkbuild an igloo课后反思本单元的主题为Life in the Arctic , 对于小学六年级的学生来讲,是新鲜而又陌生的。通过第一课的学习已经知道北极的一些动物。为了调动学生课内外学习英语的兴趣,在课前我要求学生利用互联网,书本,报刊或向别人请教等各种渠道,去进一步了解这片神秘的白色世界。本节课向我们简单介绍了加拿大最北端 Grise Fjord的气候特点和 Inuit的生活。实现了英语、信息技术、自然科学的整合,使学生在英语学习中积极地了解生活在北极圈附近的人们的生活状况。了解北极的气候,拓宽了学生学习的领域,学生在学科整合中拓展了知识,初步体验到了自主学习、合作学习和探究学习的强大推动力量。
