Step 1 Revision
1. Have a dictation.

2. Ask some pairs to talk about the changes in their lives using Millie and Sandy’s conversation as a model.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Review something about Starlight Town that Ss have learnt in Integrated Skills. Ask Ss to talk about the changes in Starlight Town.
2. Show an old photo and a recent photo of Moonlight Town. Lead Ss to compare the two photos and say out some changes in the town.
3. Show the following table on the blackboard and guide Ss to fill in it.

4. Present the answers one by one after Ss answer and ask Ss to read the table on Page 18.
Step 3 Reading
1. Explain the context of Part C and then ask Ss to read through the report.
2. Make sure Ss have understood the main idea of the report.
3. Guide Ss to complete Amy’s report using the information in the table on Page18.
4. Ask one student to read the report and check the answers with the class.
5. Explain some expressions:
6. Ask Ss to read the report paragraph after paragraph and think about the main idea of each paragraph.
Step 4 Writing
1. Explain the context of Part D. Ask Ss to work in pairs and discuss their ideas with their partners about the changes in their hometown.
2. Present some questions to help Ss organize their ideas better. Tell Ss to write some notes before starting working on writing.

②When did you take these two photos?
③How do things look in the old photo?
④How do things look in the recent photo?
⑤What are the changes in that place in the two photos?
⑥Are the changes good or bad? Do you like the changes? Why or why not?
⑦Which photo do you like better, the old one or the recent one? Why?
3. Ask Ss to write their own report using the article in Part AC as a model.
4. If it is possible, ask some more able students to read their reports and help them correct their reports.
