Objectives:

Teaching procedure:
Step 1:Revision and presentation:
1. Free talk::Star Shopping Mall/ Spring Land Shopping Mall
2. Review the dialogue of comic strip.
3. Teach the students how to get information by reading something.
4. Tell the students: The Class 1, Grade 7 students gave a fashion show and they wanted to raise money for Project Hope. We have different fashions in different periods. Write a list of fashion articles and adjectives.
5. In groups, the students think of as many fashion items and adjectives to describe them. It costs five minutes.
6. Ask more students to find the new words listed in the passage and work out the meanings form the context. After next, review the words.
Step 2 Learning
1. Write some headings on the blackboard and ask the students to locate the information in the passage.
a. Trainers (paragraph 4)
b. A fun event to raise money for Project Hope. (paragraph 7)
c. Sandy’s skirt and long red boots (paragraph5)
d. A fashion show for Project Hope (paragraph 1)
e. A silk blouse and a silk scarf (paragraph 6)
f. Simon wears a purple shirt and white trousers. (paragraph 2)
Step 3 Check of understanding
1.Ask the following questions:
a. How did Simon look at the fashion show? (He looked colourful.)
b. What did Simon wear? (He wore a pair of white trousers, a purple shirt, and a yellow and red tie.)
c. Did Daniel look smart and modern?(Yes)
d. Why?(It was because he wore sports clothes and colourful trainers)
e. Who gave a talk on trainers?(Millie)
f. Why did young people in the 1990s like trainers? (They are comfortable)
g. Who wore clothes from the 1990s?(Sandy)
h. In what style did Sandy wear her hair?(In the 1990s style)
i. How about Amy?(Amy wore a silk blouse, a silk scarf and a pair of blue jeans.)
j. Do young people always like to wear jeans? (Yes)
k Did everyone have fun at the show? (Yes.)
2. Encourage the students to raise questions they have either in meanings or grammar. Explain something important.

Step 4 Practice
1. Part B. In groups of four, the students look at the sentences, they have the game to see who can complete the task in the shortest time in the given time of two minutes. The group that finishes first read out their answers and the others decide whether they are right or not.
2. Part C1.Explain the instructions for Part C1 carefully. Revise the names of clothing items first. Ask them to do Part C1 and check answers as a whole.
3. Part C2.Ask the students to do Part C2 and write out correct sentences for those that are false.
4. Part D. Ask the students to do this part and at a time a student read a speech bubble.
