Step1: lead-in
1. Listen to a song.
2. show the picture.
3. Do you know the place in the picture?
What is it famous for?
4. Hollywood is famous for its films and superstars.Now,I’m going to show you some pictures of superstars.Do you know them?
5. Free talk:
(1). What do you want to be when you grow up?
(2). Do you want to be a superstar?
(3). How about Eddie?
Step2: Presentation
1. Eddie and Hobo are talking about superstars too. Who is a superstar,Eddie or Hobo? Listen and find out the answer.
2. Listen again and try to answer the following questions.
(1).Who does Eddie think he is?
(2).Does Hobo think so?
(3).What is Hobo’s advice ?
3. Read the dialogue and then act it out.
Step3: presentation
1. Explain the meaning: actor 、actress
2. Good actors and actresses put their own feelings into their acting. They should listen to the director’s instructions.
3. Ask students whether they know the names of any famous directors. Show a list of films.
4. Explain the context of part A. Some people are making a film.
Explanation: “action” means “start” or “go”.
A “take” is the recording of a scene.
“Stand by” means “to tell everyone to get ready for filming”.
5. Divide the class into pairs. Each pair then works together to match the instructions with the picture in partA.
6. When studengs have finished, ask four students to read out one answer each.
Step4 Practice
1. Ask students to work in pairs.Tell them to read Sandy and Kitty’s conversation in partB out loud,then change roles and read the conversation again.
2. Ask two students to play the roles of Sandy and Kitty.
Step5 Discussion
1. Discuss all the different people who are involved in making a film.
2. Ask students if they ever read the credits at the end of a film.If so,ask them to say some of the job titles.
3. Present the list of different jobs.
Step6 Practice
1. Make the dialogue .Use the words about different jobs in the film industry.
2. Ask a few pairs to present their conversations to the class.
Step7 Homework
1.Revise today’s phrases.
2.Read and recite the dialogue.
3.Prepare for the next period.
4.Write down the names of some famous directors and some films that are directed by them.
