Step I. Revision
1) Review the language points learned in the last period.
2) Check students’ homework.
Step II. Lead-in
T: 1) Ask students to think about some adjectives of describing people.
Ss: tall, short, fat, thin…
2) Ask students to match the correct words with the pictures in Part A on Page 11.
Suggested answers:
1. strong, thin 2. big eyes, small eyes
3. short, tall 4. square face, round face
Step III. Introduction
1) Ask students to find more adjectives for each category of the adjectives used in describing people.

2) Ask students to select and write suitable adjectives to describe themselves on a piece of paper.
Sample:
My name is Jack. I am twelve. Everyone in my class all likes me. Because I have a good appearance. I have a medium build. I am tall—almost 1.75 metres. I have a round face. And I have a pointed nose and big eyes. What makes me satisfied is that I have curly, short hair. That’s all.
Step IV. Game
Divide students into groups. Ask them to describe their appearance to each other. Then ask them to perform on the platform.
Step V. Homework
1. Learn the adjectives describing people’s appearance by heart.
2. Ask students to write a passage to describe their friends, classmates, relatives or pop/sports stars using the adjectives they have learnt.
3. Preview the Integrated skills Part.
