Thanksgiving is a day set aside in honor of the memory of the Pilgrim Fathers. The Pilgrim Fathers were some of the first settles who came to America. After a period of great suffering, they set aside a day of thanks to the Lord for the help he had given them.

The pattern of the Thanksgiving celebration has never changed through the years. The big family dinner is planned months ahead. Almost all the people go back home for the reunion. The big dinner is very rich. The best and most attractive among them are roast turkey and pumpkin pie.
Everyone agrees the dinner must be built around roast turkey stuffed with a bread dressing to absorb the tasty juices as if roasts. But as cooking varies with families and with the regions where one lives, it is not easy to get a consensus on the precise kind of stuffing for the royal bird.
感恩节庆祝模式许多年从未改变。丰盛的家宴早在几个月之前就开始着手准备，几乎所有人都回家团聚。感恩节正餐很丰富，其中最妙和最吸引人的才是烤火鸡和南瓜馅饼。
