The novel Tess of the DUrbervilles was his most famous novel. The fiction tells a story of a tragedy life of a pure girl .In the Victorian period, a rural c

Tess parents sent his daughter to a family named DUrbervilles in order to improve their social status. Tess was asked to feed chickens there and Alec fell in love with Alec, who l

Some time later, Tess began working as a milkmaid, and there she met her true love Angel Clare. They fell in love, but Angel does not learn of her previous relationship with Alec until thei

Angel returned from travelling abroad, remorseful at his treatment of Tess, but found her with Alec. Tess murdered Alec in order to run away with Angel. They spent o

In my view,First of all, Family background caused Tesss Tragedy .Tesss father was a poor countryside hawker who is lazy and is addicted to drinki

They sent Tess there not only wanted Tess to have a better life, they want thought Tess change their fate and get rid of their poverty and led a noble life. Tess personal characteristics were also the cause of her tragedy. Towar

She gave up enjoying the comfort of life, raised children alone. Thought the essay that we can clearly see how cheap her love. In love, Tess l

8、ost herself, lost her own dignity. It was this blind, unequal loves that made Tess lose some rights of a true wife, who could seek happiness. It was the morality and ethic in the Britains Victorian era that caused Tess tragedy. Tess was a poor peasant girl who wanted to rely on her hands to pursuit

9、individual happiness right, but the society forced her to change. Tesss tragedy is due to the moral root of society and the stable view of women chastity in the society which male is center. Of course, there were some other factors that caused Tess tragedy, Maybe I dont have a deep understanding of

10、it, and some behaviors of Tess seems unreasonable to me. Love is great and selfless. If you love a person, you should accept her past, because her past is also a part of her life and is a part of her soul. If you can not accept her past, you will never be able to enter her heart world.Thomas Hardy h

11、as a lot of famous articles, and most of them are novels. Most of the novels share some common characteristics, for instance, simple, purity, and fulfilled with intense emotions. Just like a lovable, innocent girl. But behind all these showed on the surface, there are also passion, irritation, affli

12、ction, and regret flowing deep in the soul. And then, about this story, named “Tess of the dUrbervilles”, also shared some of these characteristics. The story mainly tells us the life about an innocent, pure, beautiful girl who lived in the countryside of British. She lived in a poor family, and she

13、 was under the double pressure of both poverty and the decayed custom of society, and her final is destruction, she was destroyed by the great pressure. On the first page of the book the writer says:” Tess, a pure woman.” But many others wonder why this evaluation was given to Tess, in their minds,

14、a woman who had killed a people should not be treated as a kind girl. But if they see, how Tess was gradually pushed into a big hole by her own parents and the person who said they loved her, they are sure to change their thought absolutely. Tess is really a pure woman, but her life was ruined by th

15、e people around her. She had a golden heart, but they tore it into pieces; she had a fresh and clear soul, but they polluted it.Tesss girlish purity was taken by the evil dUrbervilles, and that was the beginning of all bad things in her life. Before this happened, though poor and hard her life was,

16、at least she had her own beautiful dreams and she can dance and sing happily with her friends in the village, with nothing to worry about. But after that, the whole world was changed. Her sky turns into grey and dark, then she lost herself into frustration, depression and hopeless. I want to say, th

But just because in other peoples minds this is an unforgettable mistake, just because the feudal view of the old village, old society and old people, the bright sunshine in her life was overshadowed, her soul was put in jail and would not be set free until they saw h

18、er death. Sometimes I even think that it was her own parents that made her a thorny life. A alcoholic and a daft woman ruined their own daughters whole life and they even know nothing about this! What a tremendous tragedy it is!If we say that there was still hope in Tesss life, when Tess was raped b

19、y the beast Alec dUrbervilles, then the Wedding Night of Tess and Angel was the summit of the tragedy, at that time, she was totally in desperation. The man who said he loved her with his heart and soul and would love her for whole life betrayed her at that night, and then the leftovers of her hope

20、all went away, her world collapsed. His name is Angel, but I have never seen an angel like this. In fact, he is her devil. And so far as I am concerned, if you really love someone, you must love her for everything she had or did in the past, and receive them because these are also a part of her soul

21、! About Tess it is not an unforgettable thing in our times, but it is in the feudal society. So again, the writer repeated something to us. The most important thing I get from the article is: love is great, love is selflessness. If you really love somebody, you are supposed to receive her past. And

22、if you cannot, then you cannot go deep into her heart. Deep love is understanding, tolerant, and forgiveness. Because, love, can melt the glacier, can enlarge our heart as broad as the sea. And love, is the only reason that we are now living in this world. The novel tells a wretched story about the h

But unluckily, When Angel knew her sad story; he left her and went to Brazil. Later when she knew Angel had returned home and found out

24、 that she was living with the man who had given the damage to her before. And she knew her happiness was destroyed and killed Alec. Then she lived with Angel for only five happy days and nights. But, the police quickly found them on the morning of the fifth day. A few days later, Tess was executed (

25、判死刑).Having read this novel some times, I admire the protagonist (主人公) very much. She is a flying petrel (海燕) facing windstorm. First of all, she was brave and industrious. Although she had abandoned two times, she never lost confidence of living. She always challenged the unequal fate. In hard circ

Bible (圣经) said: “The perfect woman is a working woman, not a fine lady. A girl who uses her hands, heart and head for others.”Tess had all the qualiti

She believed in the saying “where wheres life theres Secondly, for pursuing happiness, Tess was fighting and fighting. She expected sweet lov

In my opinion, Tess should become each girls even each boys example. As a student who will soon go to society, we must possess the quality. For dreams, we should p

Yes, later on, David did have a happy life: he was send to school by his kind aunt and married a lovely girl and had many kids in the end.You might think its too easy for David to be successful. What did he do? He just ran

32、 away to his aunt! But, if you were David Copperfield, would you run away? Do you have the courage to run away? Do you have the ability to run away? Can you conquer the difficulties you might have on your way to go? Well, you might be irresolute, hesitant since most of us, who are the apple of our p

Therefore, we may miss the best opportunity to run away and even miss the chance to be happy or successful!Do you think Davids trip is a smooth sailing? No! He had been tricked and lost all his money, s

Children, who were born after 1990, are growing under multiple protections of parents, teachers and relatives, we dont have to worry about the fees of education, we dont have to worry about food, and we dont have to worry about housing either! We are

35、so lucky to own all these things! And we are clever, healthy, and have rich materials for living and study, but we are still in some aspects. What are we penurious, and what are we still in want of? We are in want of something on the spirit, like courage, bravery and willpower! We are in want of som

What you need is the abilities to conquer the difficulties brought by your decision! You may ask: If Davids aunt also treated him very bad, what would

38、 he do? Would he run away again? I dont know whether he will run or fight against or do something else. But I do know that whatever he does, he wont stop pursuing the steps of happiness! What we need is not simply the courage to make a good decision or a choice. What we really need, is the belief an

If Charles Dickens created his child hero Oliver Twist for his sympathetic commiseration of orphans and his discontent of the

41、 ill-functioning society, we could say that he created his other child hero David Copperfield for a completely different reason. Critics consider David Copperfield as Dickens autobiographical novel that unmasked a great account of Dickens early childhood upbringings. It is often said that it is impo

42、ssible to understand a great classic work without understanding the writer first. To read David Copperfield is to understand Charles Dickens, which will further deepen the understanding of Dickens other works. Honestly speaking, I consider David Copperfield a bit dry in terms of plot development and

43、 dramatic climax comparing to Oliver Twist. I understand that this has to do with the fact that this is a semi-autobiography that had to carry some purpose of relating to the realities in Dickens childhood. Another attributed reason is that unlike Oliver Twist, As Dickens earlier works were publishe

44、d serially, his writings were also finished serially, either weekly or monthly, according to the needs of publications. It was not until the rather cool receipt of his Martin Chuzzlewit that Dickens started considering taking upon a more constructed writing style with numbered plans in plot developm

45、ent. David Copperfield was thus produced under such constructed and well-planned writing, which, I believe, added special dramatic effect to the stories. The repetitive reappearance of several important characters in David Copperfields life confirms the reality in which we all experience the re-acqu

46、aintance with people weve met and that the relationship is strengthened with each re-acquaintance. Writing constructively, rather serially, gave Dickens the opportunity to cultivate each of these characters, their relationship with David Copperfield and the impact they have on David Copperfield. Ins

47、tead of introducing minor characters that were forgotten later on, Dickens gave each character a purpose of existence in the story, which also engaged readers into the story and added flavor to the plot. The story of David Copperfield ended in the most beautiful merriness, with David finding the tru

48、e hero of his life - himself. However, an interesting question that we should ask is, has Charles Dickens let his own kindness take over the realism that fictional works should bring forward to the readers? Many critics seem to think Dickens plot his story to make the readers feel good, rather than

49、show the reader what human life is really like. I dont think I have read enough of Dickens works to pass any judgment, but I do like to point out that, as a writer, I do believe that a story to express realism makes a greater echo in readers hearts than a story to please. William Wordsworth is a romantic poet in Great Britain. His child complex plays an important role in his literary ac
