西湖
西湖在杭州市区的西部，面积约6．03平方公里，其中，水面积5.2平方公里，湖岸周长15公里。湖面上有白、苏二堤，将湖面分成外湖、里湖、岳湖、西里湖、小南湖五个部分。湖中有孤山、小瀛洲、湖心亭、阮公墩四岛。环湖的山峰外观秀丽挺拔，势若骏马奔腾。在西湖风景区内，分布有苏堤春晓等名胜四十余处，以及六和塔等三十余处古迹。沿湖四周，花木繁茂；群山之中，泉溪竞流；亭台楼阁，交相辉映；湖光山色，千古风情，令多少人流连忘返。"上有天堂，下有苏杭"的赞语真是恰如其分。
West Lake
Situated to the west of Hangzhou, the West Lake area covers 6.03
square kilometres, with a water area of 5.2 square kilometers and a
circumference of 15 kilometres. The lake is divided by Su and Bai
causeways into five sections: Outer Lake, Inner Lake, Yue Lake, West
Inner Lake and Small South Lake; and there are four islands, namely,
Solitary Island, Little Yingzhou Islet (also called "Three Pools
Mirroring the Moon"), Mid-Lake Pavilion and Ruan gong Mound. The
mountains towering around the lake look like gal-loping horses,
presenting an imposing air. Over 40 scenic spots and 30 historical
sites dot the West Lake, such as "The Early Spring at the Su
Causeway" and the Pagoda of Six H a{'monies. The causeways, bridges,
pavilions, springs, trees and flowers in and around the West lake
make it a paradise on earth, where one cannot tear himself away.

卢沟桥
卢沟桥始建于金大定29年(公元1189年)，于金明昌三年(公元1192年)建成。桥全长266．5米，宽7．5米，桥身共11孔，是一座连拱大石桥。大桥扶栏上雕刻的狮子大小不一，形态各异，北京民间就有"卢沟桥的狮子--数不清"的说法。1962年曾为此进行了清点，共有485只。1979年在河中又挖出了一只。这些石狮艺术价值极高，特别是桥东的南边栏杆上有一只石狮子，高竖起一只耳朵，好像在倾听桥下的流水声和过往行人的谈话。1937年7月7日，在卢沟桥响起了抗击日本帝国主义的第一声炮响，揭开了抗日战争的序幕。
Lugou Bridge ( Marco Polo Bridge)
The Lugou Bridge started to be built in 1189 and was completed
three years later. This 1 i-arch stone bridge is 266.5 metres long
and 7.5 metres wide. The balustrades are adorned with carved lions
of different sizes and postures. There is a saying in Beijing
that"The lions on the Lugou Bridge are too numerous to count". In
fact, there were 485 lions altogether according to a 1962 count. In
1979 one more was discovered in the river, bringing the total number
to 486. These stone lions are of great artistic value. On one of the
balusters at the southeast end of the bridge sits a lion with an ear
pricked up, as if listening intently to the sounds of the water
underneath and the conversation of the people passing by. On July
7,1937, the first shot of the War of Resistance Against
Japan(1937--1945) rang out beside the Lugou Bridge.
