1. 劝服人放弃 talk someone out of
Diven--I'm going to try talking Carl out of his foolish plan.
Paul-- You can try, but he is very hard headed.
Diven注释: "hard headed" 固执。"talk someone out of something"劝说某人放弃（做）某事，"talk someone into something" 劝说某人（做）某事 。

2. 别紧张 Take it easy.  
Rita-- Oh, no.We're going to miss the flight.
Diven-- Take it easy, we still have three hours to get to the airport.
Diven注释:Take it easy. 别紧张。

3. 少啰嗦 No ifs, ands, or buts  
Mom--Johnny, turn the TV off and go do your homework.
Johnny-- But, Mom...
Mom-- Just do as I say. No ifs, ands, or buts!
Johnny--Yes, Mommy
Diven注释：这里的 "go do your homework" 原本是 "go and do your homework"。但口语中常把 "and" 省略, 而说成 go do (take, see etc.)。

4. around 大约, 左右 
Tyler-- So, Steve never made it last night?
Diven-- He did, actually. He finally showed up around 9:30 last night.
Diven注释：make it(过去式made it) 是一个很好用的词组, 有「做到」、「完成」的意思。好比你原本答应朋友要在周末到他家吃饭, 临时计画有变, 去不成了。可以告诉他"Sorry, I can't make it this weekend. My father is visiting us." around 是「大约」,「左右」的意思。

5. 少装蒜 stop playing dumb with
Rita-- Stop playing dumb with me. You know what I'm talking about.
Diven--One and one is five.
Diven注释: stop playing dumb with somebody 少装蒜。

6.大笑 crack up
He cracked up after hearing that joke.
Diven注释： "crack" 还有「崩溃」的意思。"He cracked (up) under the pressure." 承受不压力, 他崩溃了。 

7. 放屁 fart
Paul-- Man, what did you eat this morning? You haven't stopped farting since you got in the car.
Tyler-- Just some potatoes, oh, and a little broccoli on the side....
Diven注释：fart 放屁。

8. 跑龙套walk-on.
Paul--Many big stars had been walk-on before they became famous.
Diven-- You said it.
Diven注释：walk-on 跑龙套。You said it.你说对了。

9. 我不信有那么好的事It's too good to be true
Diven-- A hot chick confessed love to me yesterday.
Tyler-- Oh, it's too good to be true.
Diven注释：It's too good to be true.不信有那么好的事情；confess love to somebody 向某人表白。

10. 翘课 play hooky
Diven used to play hooky when he was in college.
Diven注释：play hooky翘课 ；used to 过去常常（做某事）。
