Both , neither, either的用法
Neither:“两者都不”,起否定作用,
Adj. 后接单数名词,如:Neither my sister will come. Neither sentence is correct.
Pron. 一般后接“of”和表示两个的复数代词。
1. 做主语时:句子的动词一般用第三人称单数形式。如:neither of them was in good health. Neither of us knows the news. Neither of you answers the question.
2. 做宾语时:句子动词根据主语人称确定。
I pick neither of them at the airport. ( He picks neither of them at the airport)
Conj. “—和---都不—”neither sb(1) nor sb(2) --- 后面的动词根据sb(2)的人称变化。可以用“neither of”来替换(请尝试)
Neither he nor I know the news. Neither I nor he knows the news.
Neither sth(1) nor sth(2) ---- 后面的动词根据主语的人称而变。
Neither English nor Chinese he speaks well.
Neither English nor Chinese I speak well.
Adv. 表示两个时间(地点、方式)都不。一般将”neither(neither nor)”提到句首,将助动词置于主语前。如:
I will answer the question neither this time nor next time. (I will answer the question neither time)
Neither this time nor next time will I answer the question. ( Neither time will I answer this question.)
I will meet him neither here nor there. ( I will meet him at neither place.)
Neither here nor there will I meet him. ( At neither place will I meet him. )
I will do it neither this way nor that way. ( I will do it in neither way.)
Neither this way nor that way will I do it. ( In neither way will I do it.)
He will come neither in this case nor in that case. ( In neither this case nor that case will he come.)
He will come in neither case. ( In neither case will he come.)
Either: “两者之一(任何一个)”、“(否定的)也”
