摘 要:This study demonstrates the characterization of proton spot scanning on a Li target assembly for accelerator-based BNCT from the viewpoint of heat removal and material strength. These characteristics are investigated as to their dependence on the Li target thickness, considering that the Cu backing plate has more suitable heat removal properties than Li. Two situations are considered in this paper, i.e. the cyclic operation of the spot scanning, and a stalled spot scanning cycle where the proton beam stays focused on a single position on the Li target.
It was found that the maximum of the Li temperature and the strain of the Cu backing increase as the cycle period increases. A cycle period less than 120 ms (over 8.3 Hz of frequency) enables the Li temperature to be kept below 150 °C and a cycle of less than 115 ms (8.7 Hz) keeps the Cu strain below the critical value for a 230 μm thick Li target, though the values are evaluated conservatively. Against expectation, the Li temperature and Cu strain are larger for a 100 μm thick target than for a 230 μm target. The required cycle period in this case is 23 ms (43 Hz) for maintaining a reasonable Li temperature and 9 ms (110 Hz) to prevent Cu fatigue fracture.

摘 要:The formation of HXeCCH molecules and HXeCC⋅ radicals resulting from chemical reactions in solid xenon-acetylene systems irradiated with fast electrons was studied by low-temperature IR and EPR spectroscopies. The data obtained confirm the assignment of an absorption band with maximum at 1478 cm−1 to the H-Xe stretching vibrations in the HXeCC⋅ radical. Relativistic density functional calculations with inclusion of anharmonic corrections permit a quantitative description of the vibrational spectra of xenon-containing molecules and radicals. Preliminary experimental and computational data on the magnetic resonance parameters of the HXeCC⋅ radical were obtained. This radical is characterized by large hyperfine coupling constants with magnetic nuclei of the xenon isotopes.

摘 要:The role that small particle accelerators play in the field of applications to Cultural Heritage (for material analysis and dating) is critically discussed also in comparison to other techniques, pointing out pros and cons. As to material analysis, some peculiarities of ion beam techniques may be now less unique than they were perhaps ten years ago, but these techniques can still reach unrivalled results thanks to a smart use of their potential: for instance, they can provide elemental maps and resolve layer structures. Concerning Accelerator Mass Spectrometry, its unique performance for radiocarbon dating -- as to sensitivity, precision and quasi non-destructivity -- is described, and perspectives for further improvements are presented.

摘 要:Many reseraches on the emittance scanner system have been done on the LECR2M ion source. In these experminents, it was obvious that the negative signal collected from the Faraday eup was very low. In repetitive study of the system, O and Ar ions with different charge states were tested. We have measured the horizontal and vertical ernittance of those ion beams. The results of the O^6+ and O^4+ beams are shown in Fig. 1. In the test the RF freqency was 14. 5 GHz; the RF power was 456 W; the extraction voltage was 15 kV. The repetitious error of the ernittanee scanner was no more than ±3% as shown in Fig. 2. The error was more less than ever. This indicates it is effeetive to improve the seanner system, and it is very good that the data was processed with the Emittance Analysys Sytem. The plot of the beam density of O^6+ in the horrizental direction of the phase spaee is shown in Fig.

摘 要:The electron-beam-induced modification of stoichiometry and acceleration of titanium diffusion in Al2O3/Al/C structures have been studied for the first time using He4+ ion backscattering, scanning electron microscopy, and electron probe microanalysis techniques. It is established that the electron beam treatment leads to an increase in the effective diffusion coefficient of ion-implanted titanium, changes the ratio of aluminum and oxygen concentrations in the α-Al2O3 layer, and induces the substitution of carbon for oxygen in this layer.

摘 要:The objective of this paper is to demonstrate the versatility of electron beam-physical vapor deposition (EB-PVD) technology in engineering new materials with controlled microstructure and microchemistry in the form of coatings. EB-PVD technology is being explored in forming net-shaped components for many applications including space, turbine, optical, biomedical and auto industry. Coatings are often applied on components to extend their performance and life under severe environmental conditions including thermal, corrosion, wear, and oxidation. In addition, coatings have been used in designing and developing sensors. Performance and properties of the coatings depend upon its composition, microstructure and deposition condition. This paper presents recent results of various materials including ceramic, metallic, and functionally graded coatings produced by EB-PVD. Simultaneous co-evaporation of multiple ingots of different compositions in the high energy EB-PVD chamber has brought considerable interest in the architecture of functional graded coatings, nano-laminated coatings and designing of new structural materials that could not be produced economically by conventional methods. In addition, high evaporation and condensate rate allowed fabricating precision net-shaped components with nanograined microstructure for various applications. This paper will also present the results of various metallic and ceramic coatings including chromium, titanium carbide (TiC), hafnium carbide (HfC), tantalum carbide (TaC), hafnium nitride (HfN), titanium-boron-carbonitride (TiBCN), and partially yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ), and HfO2-based TBC coatings deposited by EB-PVD for various applications.

摘 要:The coefficient of backscattering of primary electrons is discussed as a function of their energy and atomic number Z. The amplitude of the wave function obtained in the first born approximation and the Thomas-Fermi atom model are used to calculate the constant for screening of the electric field of the nucleus by atomic electrons. The theoretically calculated integral backscattering coefficients of primary electrons are compared with the experimental values in the range 12<Z<92 for primary electron energies of 10 and 40 keV. 摘 要: The characteristics and principles of multilevel trigger systems of the ATLAS and CMS detectors are considered. Calorimeter algorithms for particle identification are described. The parameters of the trigger chambers used for muon track identification are presented. Methods for designing custom processors based on custom integrated circuits and programmable arrays are described. The parameters of the trigger systems of the ATLAS and CMS detectors are compared.
