Step1. Warm up
1. Greet the class in some different ways: Hello/Hi/Good afternoon!
2. Introduce myself to the class: “ I’m your new teacher today . I like taking pictures in my free time. Do you want to look at my pictures ?’’ Show some pictures . Talk about the pictures and lead “ season’’.
Step2. Preview and present the words and the sentences one by one.
Words : spring summer autumn(fall) winter
Sentences: 1. ---What’s your favourite season ?
--- My favourite season is ...
2. ---Which season do you like best ?
--- I like ...best .
3. ---Why do you like ...?
---(Because) I can ...
Step3. Practice in groups
Work in groups to talk about their favourite seasons and why .
Give the help if need.
Check in different ways .
Step4. Game
Ask students to draw their favourite seasons on the guiding paper I gave them before the class.
Invite some of them to share their paper with the others.
Ask some groups to talk about their favourite seasons according to the pictures, use the target language we learned in Unit 2 .
Step5. Summary
We learned the 4 seasons in a year, and we also know how to describe our favourite season. Here, I have some other pictures to share with you .(Share the pictures and ask them the feeling of looking at the pictures).
Ask students to keep our class clean and learn to protect the environment .
Step6. Homework
Make a dialogue about their favourite seasons with their partner and try their best to keep the environment beautiful and enjoyable .
