Annie and the Sunflowers
Annie’s cousin Laura loves sunflowers. She grows some sunflowers in the garden. She takes good care of the flowers and waters them every day.
Laura will be on holiday. Annie promises to look after the sunflowers. On Monday and Tuesday, she goes to Laura’s and waters the plants.
On Wednesday, Annie has a new book to read. When she finishes the book, it is 9:00 in the evening. “It is too late to go to Laura’s,” she says, “I’ll go tomorrow.”
The next day, when Laura comes home from school, she is tired and thirsty. “The sunflowers must be thirsty too. But I’m too tired, and it’s too hot today. I’ll water them tomorrow.”
On Friday, Sandy comes to play. Laura and Sandy have a good time. “I should go and water the plants. But I can’t go now. I’m playing with Sandy.”
On Saturday, Laura is back home from her holiday. But all the sunflowers are dead.
