Laurance-Would you like some cookies? I just made them.

Laurance-These are chocolate,and those are

Laurance- Would you like to look at my cousin's car?
Soony--- Is it a four-door or a two-door?
Laurance- It's a coupe with a vinyl roof.
Soony--- Does it have automatic transmission?.
Laurance- Yes, and it also has power steering, power brakes,
and air conditioning.
Soony--- I guess I might take a look at it. How much is he
asking?
Laurnace- I don't know for sure, but he'll make you a good
deal.
Soony--- Okay. Set it up for me to see it, if you can.

Soony- Suit yourself, but it's probably better to come
back later.
Laurance- You will get it fixed today, won't you?
Soony- I don't see any problem. We should have it ready
for you by three at the latest. But, better call
before you come.
Laurance- Okay. Thanks a lot.

Soony- I was going to, but I didn't have any change for a
pay phone.
Ikea- You could have gotten some change in a store.
Soony- Not really. The tire went flat out on the edge of
town. There wasn't any place to call from.
Ikea- WelL at least you're here now. No need to wait
any longer. So let's get started!

the main highway.
Soony- Well, if I may offer a suggestion ... Why don't
you stop and ask a policeman?
Laurance-Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think I see one up there in the
next block.

off in front of the zoo.
Laurance- Maybe that's what I'll do. Thanks a lot.

laurance--Well, I hope she drives carefully.You know
how the traffic is this time of year.
soony--Oh.Mary's a good driver--and pretty careful,too.
I don't think we need to worry about her being
careless.
laurance--true,but,nonetheless,that doesn't mean that
all the other drivers are careful.There are
a lot of wild drivers out there.
soony--I have confidence in Mary.She's very good about
driving defensively.

laurance--Because,Jerry ate there last week and had the

too.
soony--That's interesting.Maybe the health authorities
should investigate the place.
laurance--That's what I think.Two people with similar
problems in such a short time can't just be
coincidence!
