尊敬的财政部经济事务大臣伊恩·皮尔逊先生，尊敬的伦敦金融城市长安司棣先生，各位来宾，女士们，先生们：
mrianpearson，economicsecretarytothetreasury，mylordmayor，mylords，ladiesandgentlemen，再过15分钟，第41届世界博览会将在中国上海隆重开幕。感谢大家出席今天的招待会，与我们一道在第一时间目睹上海世博会的开幕盛况。
inabout15minutes，the41stworldexpositionwillopeninshanghai.iwouldliketothankallofyouforcomingtothechineseembassytosharethisexcitingmomentwithus.英国是世博会的故乡。1851年，伦敦万国工业产品博览会在水晶宫举办，这是人类历史上第一届世博会。
britainishomeoftheworldexposition.in1851，thegreatexhibitionoftheworksofindustryofallnationswasheldinthecrystalpalace–andwasthefirsteverworldexpo.中国参与了本次世博会，并留下了深刻的历史印记。英国画家塞鲁斯在博览会开幕式油画中，描绘了一位中国商人；《伦敦新闻画报》制作的长达7米的世博会全景画，描绘了东道主布置的中国展室；china'sparticipationinthegreatexhibitionwasabigsuccess.thissuccesswascapturedbybritishartisthenryselous，whoincludedachinesemerchantinthepainting'theopeningofthegreatexhibition'，andbytheillustratedlondonnews，whichincludedthechineseboothinitsseven-metre-longpanoramicillustrationoftheevent.上海商人徐荣村邮寄参展的十二包湖丝，获得了“制造业和手工业奖”。buttoroundoffthesuccesses，shanghaimerchantxurongcunwonamedalfor12packsofhuzhousilk，whichhehadsentbypost.时光荏苒，159年过去了，世博会规模和影响已今非昔比，人类已见证了40届世界综合性博览会。世博会推动着人类的科技创新，见证了人类进步的足迹。小到蛋筒冰淇淋、瓶装水、电灯，大到电梯、汽车、飞机，都是从世博会走入公众的视野，最终融入人们的日常生活。因此诞生了这么一句名言，“一切始自世博”。159yearsand40worldexposhavepassedsincethen.theexpohasgrowninscaleandinfluence，takingforwardtechnicalinnovationsandbearingwitnesstohumanprogress.fromice-creamcones，bottledwaterandelectriclamps，tolifts，carsandaircraft，–allofthesehaveemergedfromexpostobecomepartofourdailylives.世博会的主题也在不断演变，从展示国家实力、追求科技突破，逐步转向对人与自然和谐共存、人类社会发展前景的人文主义思考。

1.3万名记者报名，将举行188场国家馆日、39个国际组织荣誉日活动和2万多场文化活动，预计将吸引7000万名观众，其中350万为境外参观者。

我们高兴地看到，今年的中英关系精彩纷呈。温家宝总理和李克强副总理分别访英，王岐山副总理和戴秉国国务委员先后来英与英方领导人共同主持中英经济财金对话和中英战略对话。这些访问和对话进一步增进了双方共识，即以新思维、新方式推进合作，又要处理好分歧，相互尊重，相互适应，求同存异，共谋发展。今年以来，中英经贸继续保持两位数增长，特别是英国对华出口继续保持强劲势头，今年1-8月同比增长28.6%。当前，英国对华出口在其前15大出口目的国中增长最快。中国对英投资继续在各国中名列前茅。中英人文交流日益密切和深化，“汉语热”在英不断升温；再过几个月，来自中国四川的两只大熊猫就要作为“中英友谊的使者”到英国安家落户。

展望明年，中英将迎来建立大使级外交关系40周年，英国将举办第30届夏季奥运会，中国将成为伦敦书展主宾国。我相信，双方围绕这些重要节点，共同作出努力，中英明年的交流将更加广泛深入，合作将更加富有成果。

英国中资企业协会会长杨世成先生，48家集团俱乐部主席佩里先生，伦敦工商会会长斯坦布里奇先生，女士们，先生们：
新年伊始，很高兴出席英国中资企业协会举办的新年招待会，使我有机会同中英两国企业家欢聚一堂，共迎新年。
刚刚过去的2012年，是中英两国企业家值得共同自豪的一年。去年1-11月，据中方统计中英双边贸易增长了7.1%，达到570亿美元。这一成绩的取得来之不易，因为同期中国同欧盟的贸易下降了4.1%，英国是中国在欧盟主要贸易伙伴中唯一出口和进口都实现正增长的国家。特别值得一提的是，中国从英进口前11个月增长了17.8%，增幅在欧盟成员国中居第一位。
