Unit 3 Language in use 教 学 设 计 教学内容 Unit 3 Language in use 教材分析 The unit is to check if the students can uses vocabulary and new words they learn in this unit to express what they want others to know. Task-based language learning would help the students use the vocabulary and sentence structure. 教学目标 To encourage students to share and express their thinking using what they have learned in this module. 教学重点 Task-based discussion and presentation 设计思路 Present a practical task for the students to learn English in use. 教师活动 学生活动 教 学 流 程 1. 情 景 导 入 Ask students who know his / her parents’ birthday, what birthday presents they ever gave to their parents. Pre-task activity 1: Individual work Students think about their parents’ birthday and what they have ever done to show their love to their parents. 2. 知 识 新 授 Present the task of learning: try to think about what their parents like and what they would give to their parents as presents. Pre-task activity 2: Individual work Get familiar with the grammar on Page 52 and finish the exercise form Part 2 to Part 5 3. 情 景 操 练 Ask the students to work in groups of 5 or 6 to think about a special birthday present for their parents. The present should be: made by themselves; able to show their love; unique. While-task activity: Group work Work in groups of 5 or 6 to think about giving their parents special presents for their coming birthday. 4. 情 景 回 归 Ask students to present their thinking. Post-task activity: Group work Present their thinking in public. The best present should be: made by themselves; able to show their love; unique. 板书(或课 件)设计 Each group’s work should be shown on the blackboard. 作业布置 Get their presents ready and show them to the whole class. Finish all the exercises on Page 60 and Page 61 of Assessment Book. 教学反思 Encourage the students to talk and share their thinking in English. 2
