Greetings Greet each other 2. Presentation   Teacher: What is the weather like today?      Is it raining heavily? rainstorm 1) What is the weather like in the picture? 2) Is it raining heavily? – It’s raining heavily/The rain is heavy 3) If it keeps rainy heavily, it is a disaster called rainstorm thunder and lightning 1) In summer what always com with a rainstorm? 2) What comes first? thunder or lightning? flood 1)If it keeps raining for a very long time, what will happen? – flood 2) What can flood do? – wash the house away 1) What will happen if there is no rain for a long time? – drought 2)  What bad thing can a drought cause? typhoon 1) In south China, in summer, there will be another bad weather day. It often comes from the sea. What is it? 2)  What comes with typhoon?   strong wind and heavy rain. tornado 1) Tornado is a very serious and terrible disaster. The wind is so strong that everything will be thrown into sky. snowstorm 1) What often happens in winter?  snow 2) When the snow is very heavy, it causes a snowstorm sandstorm 1) We have another terrible “storm”. It is called sandstorm 2) Where does it usually happen? Beijing earthquake 1) Which do you think is the most terrible natural disaster? 2) What happens when an earthquake takes place?   house – shaking , fall down people – run wildly, be trapped 3. Discuss   1) According to the description, judge whether it is a natural disaster or not.   2) According to the pictures, what disasters are they? 4. Comic strips   1) It is raining hard today. Eddie and Hobe are suffering from it. Listen to the tape and answer some questions     What is the weather like today?     Whose house is better?     Can Hobo go home alone? Why?     What does Hobo want Eddie to do ?   2) Read the dialogue after the tape.   3) Read in pairs   4) Act out the dialogue 5. Homework: 1). Copy the new words and phrases. 2).
