四、阅读理解 (本题共30分,每题2分)
A
What is your favorite color? Do you like yellow, orange, or red? If you do, you must be an active person who enjoys life. Do you like blue? Then you are probably quiet, shy, and would rather follow than lead.
Colors do influence our moods. A yellow room makes most people feel more cheerful and more relaxed than a dark green one; and a red dress brings warmth and cheer to the saddest winter day. On the other hand, black is depressing (令人压抑的). There was a black bridge over the Thames River, near London. The number of people who killed themselves on that bridge used to be larger than on any other bridge in the area -- until it was repainted green.
Light and bright colors make people not only happier but also more active. In the factory, the workers will work better, harder, and have fewer accidents when their machines are painted orange rather than black.

Yesterday the police were busy searching for the two missing teenagers, Vicky Gray and Tom Hunter, and their guide, Gavin Jones. The police said that they disappeared during an adventure (冒险) tour of Cape York Peninsula. This was the second day of the search and the police were now very worried about the safety of the three missing people.
The police said that the search had covered a wide area, but the rainforest was thick and their work was made harder by the recent rain. Later on Chief Inspector (警官) Roger Fleet said, “The travellers had a radio with them. If they were in trouble, they would call us.”
The three travellers left Cooktown very early on Saturday morning in a Toyota car. They took a small road that runs down to the Daintree River, a dangerous river full of crocodiles (鳄鱼). Chief Inspector Roger Fleet said the tourists wouldn’t get into trouble if they stayed on the main road. A policeman found a photo of Vicky and Tom near the “Be Careful about crocodiles” sign near the river. Why was the photo left behind? This is just one of the unanswered questions. Other questions are: Why did they park the Toyota car at the edge of the rainforest? And the police said that the travellers left a map of the area behind, too.
If anyone can give information or has seen these three young people, call the local police in Cooktown.

Qi Haoran, a Junior 1 student, was quite busy over the past winter vacation and not just busy with homework. Qi, together with 10 other students made a volunteer group to call on people to join the ‘Clean Your Plate Campaign’(光盘行动)
The 11 students went to many restaurants and told people the importance of saving food. ‘Excuse me, do you know that 950 million people around the world still haven’t got enough to eat? Please don’t waste food.’ They would say this kind of thing hundreds of times every day.
The ‘Clean Your Plate Campaign’ began on the Internet in January. It called on people to reduce food waste.
China these years had serious problems with wasted food. CCTV reported in January that the food Chinese people waste every year is enough to feed 220 million people for a year.
Chinese people are well-known for being hospitable(好客的) and generous. Many even feel that they lose face if their guests have eaten all the food.
Luckily, the campaign has got the support of many restaurants. In a restaurant in Xinjiang, the owner gives the guests who have eaten all that they ordered a sticker. People can enjoy a free meal when they begun to offer smaller dishes and encourage their guests to take leftovers home.
