形容词和副词的比较级

在英语中大多数形容词和副词有三个等级：原级（即原形），比较级（表示“较....更....一些”），最高级（表示“最.....”）。当表示两者（人或事物）相比较时，要用形容词或副词的比较级。

1. 形容词或副词比较级的构成
（1） 规则变化
①单音节词和少数双音节词一般在词尾加-er 或-est。如：tall→taller→tallest, cold→colder→coldest, clever→cleverer→cleverest。
②以字母e结尾的词，在词尾加-r 或-st。如：nice→nicer→nicest, late→later→latest。
③词尾只有一个辅音字母的重读闭音节词，先双写末尾的辅音字母，再加-er 或-est. 如：big→bigger→biggest, fat→fatter→fattest, thin→thinner→thinnest。
④以“辅音字母﹢y”结尾的双音节词，先把y变成i，再加-er 或-est。如：funny→funnier→funniest, easy→easier→easiest, happy→happier→happiest。
⑤多音节词和部分双音节词，在词前加more 或most。如：popular→more popular→most popular, carefully→more carefully→most carefully, quickly→more quickly→most quickly.

（2） 不规则变化
good/well→better→best bad/badly→worse→worst many/much→more→most little→less→least far→farther/further→farthest

2. 形容词和副词比较级的用法
（1） 表示原级
当Ａ和Ｂ在某一程度上一样或不一样时，可用原级比较。
肯定结构：as ﹢形容词/副词原级 ﹢as。
否定结构：not as/so ﹢形容词/副词原级 ﹢as。
例句：She is as tall as her mother. 她和她妈妈一样高。
My brother doesn’t study as/so hard as me. 我弟弟学习不如我努力。

（2） 表示比较级
①比较级句子的基本结构：......形容词/副词比较级 ﹢than......
She is taller than her mother. 她比她妈妈高。
She runs faster than me. 她跑得比我快。

②在比较级的前面可以用 much, even, far, a lot, a little, still 等修饰。
The room looks much brighter. 房间看起来明亮多了。
My sister is a little more outgoing than me. 我姐姐比我外向一点。

③“the ＋比较级， the ＋比较级” 表示“越......， 就越......”。
The more carefully you drive, the safer it is. 开车越小心越安全。

④ “比较级 ＋and ＋比较级” 表示“越来越......”
The weather is getting colder and colder. 天气变得越来越寒冷了。

(3) 表示最高级
最高级表示三者或三者以上 (人或事物 ) 的比较, 其中有一个在某一方面超过其他几个时, 用最高级。最高级的前面一般要加定冠词 the, 后面可带 of ( in )短语来说明比较的范围
例如：She is the youngest in the class. 她是我们班里最小的。
Jason is the tallest of the three. 杰森是三人中最高的。
Whose handwriting is the best of all? 你们中谁的书法最好？
