1. expect vt.预期，预料
expect sth. from sb.从……期待……
expect sb. to do sth. 期盼某人去做某事
他期盼从他的朋友那里获得帮助。

●leave作动词时还有其他的含义。例如:

4．upset
1)．adj.沮丧的，不高兴的
be upset about sth. / that … 为……难过，不高兴
我为我的蹩脚英语感到很到很难过。（be upset about sth）

2). V. 使……烦恼，心烦

5. deserve (They don’t deserve an explanation.)
此句表示“他们不配得到解释”；deserve意为“应该得到、应受(赏罚等) ”。
如：These people deserve our help. 这些人值得我们帮助。
deserve 可以接to do/to be done的结构，如：
They really worked hard and they deserve to be rewarded(回报，奖赏).
你应该休息一下因为你已经工作4个小时了。

6. be hard on sb. 对某人严厉，对某人苛刻
Do you think we were too hard on Daniel？

二．重难点句型分析。
1．The room is in a mess, with pizza boxes on the floor and dirty dishes in the sink. (Page 22)
[透析] 此句中含有一个with复合结构,with +名词+介词词组。例如:
She waved hands to say goodbye with tears in her eyes.
[拓展] 常见的其它with结构有:with + 名/ 代词+ 现在分词/ 过去分词；with +名/ 代词+ 形容词；with + 名/ 代词+ 不定式。例如:
①The thief was brought in,_____________________________（手被绑在他的后面）
②He has the habit of sleeping_____________________________ （嘴巴张开着）
③____________________________(没有人帮助她), she can’t find the right way.
2. Daniel has his arms crossed and looks upset.
1）have sth done
表示“使（让，要，叫）某事被做”，动作由他人完成；表示“遭受”，不利的事；
I will have my hair cut tomorrow.
He had his arm broken.
2) have sb/sth doing sth 表示使(让)某人/(某物)一直做在做某事或处于做某事的状态之中
I had my students listening to me carefully in my class.
3) have sb do sth 表示叫(请、使 、让)某人做某事
He had his son clean the car.
我的表昨天被人偷去了。(have/ has sth done)

他让灯亮了一整夜。
