Teaching Procedures:

Step1 Greeting: Greet the whole class as usual.  

Step2  Lead-in:
1.  Let’s enjoy a song: Play a song with the lyric on the screen .

Step3.  Preset-homework 

1 Check the Preset-homework.

Find out some words about weather.

2 Brainstorm, say the words about weather. rainy windy  cloudy snowy sunny  

3. Read the key words for several times.

Step4 Talk about the weather: 

1. Show some pictures of different weather and learn some words through them. 

2.Show the key words under each picture.rainy windy cloudy snowy sunny

1 Match the pictures with the weather. 
2 Check it         

Step6 1b listening 
1 Get through the cities. Read it together. 
2 Check the answer of listening. 
3 Ask two students to work as a weather reporter.   Give them the beginning: It is raining in Toronto....  

Step7 Revision of the present progressive tense. 

Review some activities they have learned and learn some new words through pictures.      
(1) What’s he/she doing? She is making soup.
(2)What is he doing? He is playing computer games.  
(3)What is she doing?  She is going shopping.       

 Step8 Pair work 

1.  Make the dialogue using the picture. 
2.  Ask students to work in pairs to talk about the weather and the people in the picture.. 
3.  Give them 5 minutes to practice and recite the dialogue. Then ask some pairs to show their dialogues out in front of the class.  

Step9 Moral education Show pictures of some disasters and lead the students to protect the environment.  

Step10 Homework 
Make a survey. Call your friend and relatives what they are doing. Fill in the form.

Teaching Reflection: 通过本课的学习，学生了解了两个新的地名Boston和Moscow根据读音来记忆单词。掌握了各种天气的名词和描述天气的形容词，会用谈论天气的句型，最后复习了现在进行时态，学习了两个新的动词cook和study。通过多媒体教学展示图片和音频的方式，使原本比较枯燥的话题变得生动。学生课堂气氛比较活跃，但是教师设计的活动主要以小组活动上台展示为主，不够多样化。
