Purpose and task of experiment teaching Chemistry is a science based on experiments. Apart from being an indispensable component of inorganic chemistry teaching, chemistry experiment A1 comes as the first experiment course for students of chemical engineering specialities of higher industrial college. After taking this course, the students can not only deepen their understanding towards theoretical knowledge, command certain basic skills of chemistry experiments and improve their practical operating abilities by integrating theory with practice, but also form a scientific way of thinking and an attitude of unremitting pursuance to preciseness and seeking truth from facts. So this is an effective means and measure to implement ability-oriented education and cultivate innovation capability. In order to meet the requirements of chemistry teaching reform, chemistry experiment A1 now consists of routine synthetic preparation experiments for verification and test as well as comprehensive and designing experiments in terms of environmental protection, which can further bring the teaching quality to a higher level by attaching importance to research type of teaching concept and adopting multi-directional practice and exploration. Bring forward to our students the concept and awareness of green chemistry by making use of micro-scale chemistry experiment technology and combining “constant” and “micro” concepts. Syllabus of Inorganic Chemistry A1 Course title: Inorganic Chemistry A1 Periods/credits: 72/4.5 Advanced placement: Chemistry of senior high school Applicable specialities: specialities materials science, environmental science, environmental engineering, mineral processing engineering, materials chemistry, composite materials, inorganic non-metallic materials and biological technology College which will offer the above mentioned course: college of science I. Nature and task of the course As the first required major course for undergraduates of such specialities as chemical engineering, pharmacy, light industry, materials, metallurgy, environmental protection and biology etc of higher industrial colleges, inorganic chemistry is a sub-discipline of chemistry which covers the rationale and elements of chemistry and the materials makeup, structure, nature and chemical reaction rules of inorganic chemistry. This course serves not only as an important part of the integrate knowledge structure and comprehensive capability which are necessary for training professional engineering technicians, but also a foundation for further learning of some other chemistry courses and special courses relevant. The teaching task and purpose of this course go as follows: 1. to have the students command some rationales involved in chemical thermodynamics, acid-base reaction, precipitation reaction, oxidation reduction reaction, materials makeup and periodic law of elements etc. 2. to have our students learn come elementary knowledge about elements and compounds of inorganic chemistry and analyze, solve some general questions of inorganic chemistry by making use of the above mentioned rationales and other referential materials. 3. to have the teaching closely connected with dialectical materialism’s view and scientific method and combined with new knowledge of modern chemistry and new development of inorganic chemistry so as to arouse students’ learning enthusiasm, train their scientific way of thinking and enterprise, which will finally make them capable of analyzing and handling some general questions of inorganic chemistry and further obtaining new chemistry knowledge. 4. to have the students, through learning this course, command the rationale of chemical reactions, basic principle of material’s structures, elementary knowledge of chemistry elements and certain skills of chemistry experiments (practical experiment course will be opened in addition) so as to lay some necessary inorganic chemistry foundation for new courses, theories and experiment skills etc. later on. The first semester of sophomore year(大二上) Syllabus of Foundations of Material Science Course title: Foundations of Material Science Periods/credits: 80/5 Advanced placement: higher mathematics, engineering mathematics, college physics, basic chemistry and physical chemistry Applicable specialities: material science and engineering, material physics and material chemistry College (Section) or Department (Teaching and Research Division) which will offer the above mentioned course: College of Material Science and Engineering I. Nature and task of the course Being a bridge between foundation courses and major courses, foundations of material science comes as one of the basic courses for students who specialize in material science and engineering, material physics and material chemistry etc. After learning this course: 1.
