一.Teaching aims of this lesson
a .The first is the aim of knowledge .
It’s to learn and master the words: bear elephant tiger rabbit , the sentences: is this a …?-yes, it is. / no, it isn’t.
b. The second is the aim of abilities
The creative spirit is very important to the students. So I will pay much attention to train it in my class. So I will try to train the students listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities, Mainly improve their communicative abilities and encourage them to speak more English.
C. The third is the aim of emotion
Make the students have successful feeling and achievement. And make them be in English study. to help students cultivate and foster their abilities of working in groups.
二.Important points
To make sure that ss can use the sentences. “is this …?”and “is that …”Correctly and skillfully. To enable Ss to study in groups and co-operate skillfully. To develop Ss’ interest in English.

How to use the sentences fluently and freely .
四 . Teaching and learning methods
As we all know: the main instructional aims of learning English in primary school is to cultivate pupils’ basic abilities of listening and speaking and their good sense of the English language. So in this lesson I’ll mainly use “Task-based” teaching method. That is to say, I will let the Ss learn in real situations, finish a task by using some pictures to help the Ss to get a better understanding of the key structure of the dialogue. I will arrange four kinds of activities: singing, guessing game, and having a competition.
五. Teaching aids
In order to interest the students . And in this lesson a recorder, CAI (Computer Aided Instruction ,简称CAI), aniamal pictures will be needed. Students should prepare some aniamal pictures.
六 . Teaching procedure
step 1: free talk and lead in
1.Before my class , I’ll get the students to sing an English song to keep themselves relax . Hello ,hello ,how are you ?
2.Then make a free talk.
1.t: good morning ! s1: good morning !
t:Can you tell me what’s your name ? s2: my name is …
t: how old are you ? s3: i’m nine.
t: are you nine, too? s4: no, i’m ten.
t: are you a boy ? s5: yes, i am.
Step 2 Presentation and drill
1. With the help of the PPT, I set a situation of zoo by some pictures to stimulate the Ss’ interest of the lesson.

3. Play a guessing game. Divide the whole class into four groups to have a competition.
Let them guess: What’s in the zoo.elephant or bear or tiger
4. With the help of the CAI to present the pattern:Is this a …?yes ,it is .no,it isn’t.
a. Show a bag and say: “Look! I have a bag.” Carry it and say: “Oh,what’s in it ” Guess. Then take out the pen ,pencil ,book.review and ask
is this a book ? yes, it is.
is this a pencil? no, it isn’t.
is this a pencil? yes, it is.
Drill the sentences yes, it is. And no, it isn’t.
Read it out
Put the pen away from myself and ask is that a …?
自答“yes, it is.”或“no, it isn’t.”
The n teacher ask ,student answer .
放在近处的物体用is this a …? yes, it is.
放在远处的物体用is that a …? yes, it is.
5.Practice
Divide Ss into groups of six children. Using animal pictures.Each one would finish the dialogue by asking and answering: Is it a bear?

2. With the help of the CAI.Sing after the cartoom cat.Then One student dress up as a cat,two students sing :is this a cat? is this a cat? The other students sing :yes, it is. it’s a cat. The cat:i’m a cat. meow, meow, mewo.

using the letter cards ask and answers in groups.
