Teaching aims:
1. Can understand and read the sentences from Part B Let’s read.
2. Can understand the letter about the route and know about the letter format.
3. Can complete the Task Time.
Teaching key points and difficulties:
Can understand, read and say the sentences “Start from the bus stop in front of our our school．Take the No．17 bus．Get off at the post office．Walk east for three minute. Find the white building On the left．Look for me near the door．”
Teaching aids:
Pictures, teaching wall chart, an envelope and an invitation, CAI.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Step 1 Warm-up
1. Play the flash and Sing the song “Happy Birthday” with the class.
2. Then have Ss guess today is whose birthday? Show the main scene of Let’s read on P21.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Show a envelope and say “Oh. This letter is from Sarah.” Then take out an invitation. “What does she say?”
2. Read the letter. Ss listen.
3. Show the teaching wall chart. “Oh. Look! It’s Sarah’s birthday.” Then show three questions on the PPT. Let’s read again and try to answer them.
Q1: How old is she?
Q2: Where is her home?
Q3: How can we get to her home?
4. Have individuals answer the questions above. Check the answers with class.
Step 3 Practice
1. Play the recording again. Have Ss listen and finish the exercises at the bottom of P21. (Choose the best answer)
2. Have Ss read the invitation by themselves and try to draw a route to her home. Then compare their picture each other.
3. Show the six sentences about the route in random order. Have Ss put the in order and read them loudly.
Step 4 Consolidation and extension
1. Task time
Show the map of “Task time” on P22. Have Ss look at the map carefully. Then have them ask and answer in groups.
2. Letter format
Show another letter from Chen Jie. Have Ss read it. Then have then pay attention on the letter format.

Write an invitation to your best friend for your birthday party.
