In this unit the central topic is learning: the main language function is talking about how to study. Based on this central topic and related to the students’ daily life. The theme sentences in the textbook can help students to understand. By reading, students will better understand how to learn English well and find more ways.
Part2: Teaching aims and demands.

But whether or not you can do this well depends on your learning habits.
Knowledge comes from questioning.

Tell students how to study and how to become a good learner.

Step1: Pre-reading
Discuss the question:
What good learning habits can you think of?
Make a list and discuss them with your partner.
Step2: while-reading
① find the theme sentences
② find the supporting sentences of each theme
③analysis the main phrases and sentences
Step3: after-reading
1. answer the questions
① why is it a good idea to connect something you need to learn with something you are interested in?
② what study skills does the writer talk about?
