Today Im going to talk about the first period in Section A of unit 5 What were you doing when the rainstorm came?, Which is taken from Go for it, Book4. My presentation consists of six parts: analysis of the teaching material, analysis of the students, teaching methods, learning methods, teaching procedures and blackboard design.Part One Analysis of the teaching material一、Status and FunctionThis unit is mainly about telling past events using the past continuous tense. Let the students talk about what people were doing when the relevant events happened. The content of this unit is closely related to students daily life, so its easy to encourage them to communicate with others by using what they have learned in this class. 二、 Teaching aims and demands1.Knowledge ObjectsMaster new words, phrases and key sentences.Master the past continuous tense.2. Ability ObjectsHow to use the past continuous tense in the adverb clause of time leaded by when.3.
