As a new teaching pattern, online education has become an alternative method for Chines students. Many people propose a question that whether e-education will replace traditional education to become the future of education in China. As for this kind of question, people always put themselves in two different camps. Some people think that traditional education would exist all the time, some think the e-education is better than the tranditional one and it will take place of the old one. As far as I’m concerned, in spite of some shortcomings ,the online education will be the future of education in China . Distance education originated in England,in the middle of the nineteenth century. This new type of education method quickly spreaded to Europe, America and the world, and became a great power of breaking through the traditional education. (Jiang Minhong ,2009) Nowadays, even though undergo for a long period as well as the advanced technology, E-education still has some shortcomings. There are two fatal disadvantages. First , e-education requireds digital instrument especially computers, as well as the skill to operate them. Whatever requires, a large amount of financial investment is necessary. In addition, in some remote areas, where the people have no access to the High-Tech, they can’t afford to buy the expensive equipment and a few of them know how to operate those machines. On the contrary, traditional education is much less investment in equipment and by sending volunteers, education can be brought to almost anywhere. Besides, online education has some side-effects on human’s life. On the one hand, sitting still in front of the computer, one’s eyes would be tired, as well as his body. Some people would be troubled with astriction, endocrine and metabolic disorders. On the other hand, studying on the Internet, people need to face a cold machine, they can’t communicate with others even the teacher. In tranditional classrooms, students can ask the teacher for answer when they meet someting they can’t solve ,or they could talk to their classmates for some suggestions. On the online classrooms, they can’t turn to anybody ,thus make it difficult for them to acquiresome newly knowledge. Often, based on these two fators, people think that E-education is not the best choice for Chinese students and it won’t take place of the tranditional education. However, there are also supporters of e-education who argue that online education is as effective as ordinary education or even better. I really think that e-education will be the future of education, in spite of these shortcomings. First, like Sr.airman Aaron Fisher said” The ability to take my classes while on deployment ,and have my questions answered anywhere in the world, was a dream come ture.” (Nicholas Slabbert and Mirlea Saks ,2004) The convenient and the flexible are the most marked characteristics of the distance learning. On the one hand, without time and space constrain, e-education allows people get to study anytime and anywhere. People from all walks of life could enroll on the online school , and decide the time to study according to their time schedules. In short, e-education is for everyone at any time ,anywhere. Taking e-education can save time, energy, and money especially to those who are too busy to study full time. On the other hand, the schedule is flexible so that people can have a free choice to study what they need badly and most interested in. Students can take lectures for their final exam. Employers can learn some skill for their further promotion. What’s more, online education has made a great contribution to promote the life-long education, recurrent education and further education. The second advantage e-education own a widely spread newly information ,which is convinent for people searching on the Internet. There are many famous universities online schools. People can take what they interested in online. For example, I have been taking a music course on Havard online school, a friend of mine is taking a phychology course on Oxford University. We both like it. The professors who teach these classes are really learned and the way they give a lecture is so different from that in China, It’s interesting. Also there are a aboundent resources for us to lawn down, charging free. Besides, we take those courses because we are interested in, it is more valued to individual character and hobbies. Learning what they want to , people can concrol themselves and study hard to get what important. One’s life is short, his need to find his value, he should be indepentend but not enforced by somebody else. Moreover, the study enviroment online is much better than traditional classroom education. One side, in traditional classrooms, students of the similar age sitting together and discussing. They may have similar views on a question, while the people taking e-education rang from 16 to 60 may have different ideas. Discussing with people on the online school, we can learn sometiong different. The other side, e-education is more effective when class is large. In large class, interaction between students and teachers is rare difficult. However, number of students is not problem at all in online education.(李妍,2012) Besides, in online classrooms, the teachers treat each students equally and fairly, no trace of discrimination. Each students would feel comfortable and relaxed. No one need to worry about the result. In conclusion, e-education has to keeps going although some people have concern about it. As the technology developing rapidly, online education will be the future of education in China. The quality of material, convenience and the level of flexibility inherent in distance education programs will allow Chinese students even adults to get a better education.
