China Mainland
China Mainland, also known as Mainland China or simply the mainland, refers to the geographic area of China under the control of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). It is home to more than 1.4 billion people and covers an area of approximately 9.6 million square kilometers. China Mainland is the world’s most populous country and the third-largest country in the world by land area.
History
The history of China Mainland dates back thousands of years. The first unified Chinese empire was established in 221 BC by Qin Shi Huang, who is also known for his construction of the Great Wall of China.
