What is your favorite color? Do you like yellow, orange, or red? If you do, you must be an active person who enjoys life。 Do you like blue? Then you are probably quiet, shy, and would rather follow than lead。
Colors do influence our moods 。 A yellow room makes most people feel more cheerful and more relaxed than a dark green one; and a red dress brings warmth and cheer to the saddest winter day。 On the other hand, black is depressing。 There was a black bridge over the ThamesRiver, near London。 The number of people who killed themselves on that bridge used to be larger than on any other bridge in the area —— until it was repainted green.
Light and bright colors make people not only happier but also more active。 In the factory, the workers will work better, harder, and have fewer accidents when their machines are painted orange rather than black.

It's Pigs’ Hometown

It was a very cold winter night。 The old man couldn’t go to sleep。 He had been hungry for two days and it was so cold in his room that ice could be seen。 He had to get up and began to run in the room until he lay down on the floor。 The next morning he had to beg from door to door。 He had been to a lot of cities and knew a lot。
Once he came to a village, but the villagers were all poor and couldn’t give him anything。 He was too hungry to go to another village。 He thought hard and found a way。 He came to a police station and called out, “Hitler is a foolish pig!"

Five years ago, David Smith wore an expensive suit to work every day。 “I was a clothes addict ,” he jokes。 “I used to carry a fresh suit to work with me so I could change if my clothes got winkled。" Today David wears casual clothes---— Khaki pants and a sports shirt--—- to the office. He hardly ever wears a necktie. “I’m working harder than ever,” David says, “and I need to feel comfortable。"
More and more companies are allowing their office workers to wear casual clothes to work。 In the United States, the change from normal to casual office wear has been gradual. In the early 1990s, many companies allowed their workers to wear casual clothes on Friday (but only on Friday). This became known as “dress—down Friday” of “casual Friday。” “What started out as an extra one-day-a-week benefit for workers has really become an everyday thing,” said business consultant Maisly Jones。
Why have so many companies started allowing their workers to wear casual clothes? One reason is that it's easier for a company to attract new workers if it has a casual dress code. “A lot of young people don’t want to dress up for work,” says the owner of a software company, “so it’s hard to hire people if you have a conservative dress code。" Another reason is that people seem happier and more productive , when they are wearing comfortable clothes。 In a study made by Levi Strauss and Company, 85 percent of workers said they believe that casual dress improves worker morale。 Only 4 percent of workers said that casual dress has a bad effect on productivity. Supporters of casual office wear also argue that a casual dress code helps them save money. “Suits are expensive, if you have to wear one every day,” one person said。 “For the same amount of money, you can buy a lot more casual clothes。"

The human brain weighs about 1.4 kilograms, but it can, hold much more information than most computers。 However, there is another difference between humans and computers. Computers don’t forget information they are given, but humans often do。 No one remembers everything, and luckily we don't usually have to。 But everyone can improve their memory if they want to。 Here are some suggestions。
◆Try to use new informati6n immediately. For example, if you meet someone who says "Hi! I’m Carlos,” don't just say ”Hello。" Repeat the person’s name。 Say”____”
◆Break a big number into smaller parts. For example, it’s hard to memorize 109244153. But if you break it into three parts-—109/244/153—it becomes easier.
◆Write out what you need to remember ever and over again。 This will help you keep it in mind longer, especially for memorizing formulas or facts.
◆Always review information. If you bring what you’ve learned back to your mind, they become easier to remember。 For example, before you go to sleep, it’s a good idea to review the new things you learned that clay。
◆Discuss with a friend. It is always easier to remember things through discussions。 You can have a discussion about what's right and what's wrong, and it will lead to the right answe
