Teaching means: use the multi-media as an assistant means in teaching.
V. Teaching steps:
Step 1 Lead-in
1)Ask who has the longest hair and who is the tallest person in our class.
2)Show the student 5 pictures about some figures familiar to the students.
Step 2 Listening comprehensions
1) Present the students the questions before listening to the text.
2) Get the students to listen to the tape and then answer the following questions.
Step3 Language points
Phrases: medium build, medium height
Sentence:
a) What does he look like?
b) He is medium height and medium short.
c) He has short straight hair.
d) He has long curly hair.
e) Don’t judge a person by his looks.
Step4 Task—based activity
1) Show some picture for the students to watch.
2) Give them some key words.
4) Give the students an example when necessary.
Step5 guessing game
1) Ask a student to come before the blackboard then turn around. 2) Ask three or four students describe one of the classmates look. 3) Let the student guess who he is according to the other students’ description.
Step6 Summary
1) Go through the important points and difficult points of this lesson with the students once again.
2) Let students know that we should not judge a person only by his looks. We should make friends with kind and warm hearted people no matter he or she is beautiful or not.
Step6 Homework
1) Finish some exercises.
2) Write a passage about one of the student’s family member.
