Good afternoon, judges! Today I’ll talk about Cloning: where is it leading us? It’s a pleasure to share my teaching plan with all of you here. My teaching plan is made up of seven parts. They are ….
A. The analysis of the teaching material:
This is the second teaching period of this unit. The central part is the reading text with the name of Cloning: where is it leading us? It talks about what is cloning, the uses of cloning and different ideas about cloning. The aim of Reading is to introduce students the procedure of cloning and the life of Dolly the sheep.
B. The analysis of the students’ learning:
Although students have learned something about cloning in biology class, they still have difficulty in understanding the text Cloning: where is it leading us? In some sense, the topic is difficult for students. So we should help the students learn more about it by using different ways.
C. Teaching Aims:
1. Knowledge aims:
To learn about some facts and views about cloning and know how the information is organized.
2. Ability aim:
To train students’ reading ability by skimming and scanning the passage.
To talk about what we should do to deal with cloning properly.
3. Emotional aims:
To realize the benefit of cloning and the harm of cloning.
To develop students’ sense of cooperative learning.
D. Teaching Important and Difficult points:

To learn about and describe cloning.
Teaching difficult point:
To help the students express different opinions about cloning.
E. Teaching and learning methods:
skimming, scanning , group- work, discussion and task-based teaching method.

The purpose of the design: To make students know what we will learn during the period.

Q2: What can it be divided into?
The purpose of the design: To see if Ss have known some knowledge about cloning?
白板的作用:白板将黑板、投影仪、电脑整合在一起成为课堂教学的重要手段,大大提高了教学效率。

Enjoy a short video about cloning.
白板的作用:在教学中利用学生的好奇心理,将多利羊先用幕布盖起来,然后慢慢揭开,调动了学生的兴趣,达到活跃课堂气氛的作用,促进了师生互动。
The purpose of the design: To stimulate Ss’ interest in reading this text.

The purpose of the design: To predict the content of the text and inspire Ss to think about cloning.
白板的作用:白板中的普通笔可以直接勾选答案,且演示效果好,促进了生生互动。

The purpose of the design: To show the process of the birth of cloned sheep to arouse students’ interest by using whiteboard.
白板的作用:白板使原本难学枯燥的学习内容,以逼真、生动的画面创造了丰富的教学情境,使抽象的教学内容形象化,清晰化,使教学知识由静态的灌输变为图文并茂的动态传播,大大激发学生积极主动的学习兴趣。
Step7 Summary

Then came the disturbing news that Dolly was ill. ________ Dolly lived for six years and a half , Dolly’s appearance raised a storm of ________. The purpose of the design: To have the students review and consolidate what they have learned in class.
白板的作用:白板可以记录教师教学和学生学习过程的细节,学生在课后可以根据需要使用回放功能,重新展现学习过程,重温思维的脉络。可以在学习中随时调用和积累现场资源,可以将教师上课使用的资源存储,便于学生再学习或复习,巩固再巩固。

Write a passage titled Is cloning good or bad? Your passage should include the following:
1) What is cloning
2) Advantages of cloning
3) Disadvantages of cloning
4) Your opinion of it
The purpose of the design: On the one hand, homework can train the students’ writing ability. On the other hand, it can arouse the students’ thinking about cloning and have a positive attitude towards cloning.
