Ⅲ.阅读理解
Then comes July, and with it examinations; but these are soon finished and with them ends the school year. Boys and girls have nearly two months' holiday before them as they leave school by train and car to return home to their fathers and mothers.
The summer holidays are the best part of the year for most children. The weather is usually good, so that one can spend most of his time playing in the garden or, if one lives in the country, out in the woods and fields. Even if one lives in a big town, one can usually go to a park to play.
The best place for a summer holiday, however, is the seaside. Some children are lucky enough to live near the sea, but for others who do not, a week or two at one of the big seaside towns is something that they will talk about for the whole of the following year.
In England, it is not only the rich who can take their children to the seaside; if a factory worker or a bus driver, a street cleaner or a waiter wants to take his wife and children to Southend or Margate, Blackpool or Clacton, he is usually quite able to do so.
Now, what is it that children like so much about the seaside? I think it is the sand, sea and sun more than anything else. Of course, there are lots of new things to see, nice things to eat, and exciting things to do, but it is the feeling of sand under one's feet, of salt water on one's skin, and of the warm sun on one's back that makes the seaside what it is.

How can we all get more laughter into our lives? Here is what the experts suggest:
__1__ Nancy Alguire, a teacher in Clifton Park, N.Y., was once painfully shy and had a hard time laughing. Then she married a circus clown (小丑). “I became interested in the clowns,” she recalls. “One day I put on a costume and paint my face. That afternoon my whole life changed. I learned to laugh and enjoy life in a way I had never done before.” __2__ To this day, she still makes it a rule to be with people who enjoy life and laughing.
__3__ It doesn't take you too much time and can be easy. Collect favourite cartoons and jokes. Also, keep a paper for writing down the humour you find in everyday life. “Good ideas come and go fast, you have to capture them quickly or they are gone,” says Virginia Tooper.
Laugh when you need it most. “__4__” says comedian Bill Cosby. “And once you find laughter, no matter how painful your situation might be, you can survive it,” he insists.
Gray Alan, a sociology professor at the University of Minnesota, claims that laughter is a skill we can all gain — because it comes naturally. __5__ Just remember: we are just here for a period, so get a few laughs.

Ⅴ.短文改错
Good morning, everyone. Yesterday I received a letter from a elderly gentleman. He told me the other day he saw that some student in our school uniform crowded onto a bus without waiting their turns. On the bus they refuse to offer their seats for old people. What was worse, they even said dirty words to each other. I am very much sorry for this. Today's youth are tomorrow's old people. Respect the old and caring for the young is a fine tradition for our Chinese. Every one of us have the responsibility to keep it up. I hope you can learn anything from this incident and you will have good manners whether you are inside or outside the school. Thank you.
