1.0 SCOPE
This procedure covers the methods, techniques and acceptance standards for material inspection of piping fabrication of XXXXXX project..
2.0 REFERENCE STANDARD

3.0 MATERIAL RECEIVING INSPECTION
All materials for this project purchased by contractor or supplied by client shall be placed in either the yard storage area designated for the project or placed in the project warehouse area. There they shall be examined for compliance with the purchase order, invoice and client’s specifications. The warehouse supervisor, engineer, user and QC material inspector shall verify such items as quality, quantity, markings wall thickness, dimensions, and condition.
3.1 MATERIAL VERIFICATION
Materials shall be verified according to the packing list, Mill certificate, and specification. The inspectors shall sign the verification record when the materials are acceptable.
3.2 CONFORMANCE MATERIAL
Material, which meets specification, shall be marked or tagged with all relevant information. Material supply department shall have the materials stored separately from materials of other project and kept in dry and tide protection circumstance. Materials shall be given adequate protection for preventing from deforming and foreign hitting.

3.3 NON-CONFORMANCE MATERIALS
Non-conformance materials shall be marked, recorded, evaluated and removed to quarantine.
3.4 JUDGMENT OF NON-CONFORMANCE MATERIALS
The judgment shall be performed by experienced person in quality control, production and workmanship.
3.5 NON-CONFORMANCE MATERIAL REPAIR
Material that may be repaired to bring them into specification requirements shall only be carried out by approved methods and personnel strictly in accordance with the manufacturer instructions, thereby in no way compromising the warranty or guarantees on the material in question. Client to approve any repairs to client supplied material.
3.6 REJECTION AND SCRAPPING
Material that can not reach to conformance by repair shall be rejected or scrapped. Client to approve all rejection or scrapping of client supplied material.
4.0 MATERIAL INSPECTION
QC inspector shall inspect material specification, grade, heat no. (control no.) in accordance with material issuing list and Mill Certificates before material are used, QC inspector shall prepare the inspection report and sign on when the items/parts he has inspected is acceptable to the specified requirements. Inspection report shall be submitted to Client or the Certification Authority for review.
4.1 Certification and inspection requirements for procured bulk piping items shall be defined on a form to be produced by the construction contractor. This form shall become an attachment to the majority of material requisitions and purchase orders.
4.2 Information included on the form shall be:
a. The level of Company, certifying authority which is unanimously agreed and the Contractor surveillance inspection required for each item.
b. The requirements for certifying authority design appraisal for each item, if any.
c. The requirements for certification documentation for each item.
4.3 Material will be rejected unless a certification and inspection form is attached or a written note from Certification Engineer confirms that no certification is required special conditions apply.
4.4 The following certification documentation shall be specifically checked for conformance to specification:
a. Pipe Mill Material Certificates.
b. Steel Mill Material Certificates.
c. Manufacturer’s Certificate for flange, fittings and valves etc.
5.0 MARKING TRANSFERENCE FOR SURPLUS MATERIAL
In principle, the end of material with markings shall be maintained. For those surplus materials without marking: material grade, heat No. (control No.) specification shall be transferred with hard stamp.
